Oh, boy. It's like a Mexico home game. Incredible noise from the fans in green. Will their players rise to the occasion?

Hirving Lozano is an elusive talent - this kid, the way he plays football...
If you're a full-back, this is one of the players you don't want to play against, he's capable of running off the ball but when gets into the dangerous areas, he's jinky, asks questions of his opponents, can go off either side, happy to come off the left or right hand side, equally as comfortable, and he poses a threat.
We've seen him in the Champions League, in really devastating form in a team that is really flying at the moment, one of the top teams in Europe and he's an integral member of that team.

It's fast approaching 10am in Mexico City. I suspect the city has come to a standstill for this. They love their football over there.

While Robert Lewandowski is intent on scoring his first World Cup goal he has also made clear his desire to play at another World Cup. Telling Guillem Balague: "The huge dream is to score at the World Cup and I am going to do everything because this is my dream and I hope that this is the World Cup that it will happen.
"I hope it is not my last World Cup but there are so many things that can happen in the next years but I don't think it will be my last one. But in football everything can change quickly, at this moment I want to play in the next World Cup but I am ready for this one and that is all that matters."

Oh. My. Word. National anthem time and Mexico's players are belting it out. Proper rousing stuff.

I don't know a Mexican coach that hasn't been at odds with the Mexico fans, it is like being in a coconut shy at times. But whenever I have seen them recently - they have played a lot of warm-up games against South American sides - I have been struck by how poor they have been.
Maybe they are saving it up for the big night, but I have been very, very disappointed with them.

There is a lot of pressure on Tata Martino - Mexico probably lack momentum. They have not been at their best recently and sometimes Mexicans say there is no chair hotter.
Believe me, the expectation from the Mexican media and fans is too high - they expect always the team to reach a final or semi-final and the reality is that in the last seven World Cups they have been stuck in the round of 16.
There's been a lot of criticism of Martino because the squad was too old and the exclusion of some young players but this is a good opportunity for them to do well in a World Cup.

The loudest cheer I heard earlier? It's just been topped.
The stadium announcer reads the teams out and Mexico winger Hirving Lozano, who plays for Napoli, gets a huge roar.
The entire Polish team are then booed and, unsurprisingly, Robert Lewandowski got the biggest one.
Mexico fans are doing all they can to make Poland feel uncomfortable. This is some atmosphere.

Robert Lewandowski has spoken to Guillem Balague about Poland's approach to the World Cup: "When I think about the last World Cup for sure I have in my mind the first game. If we are honest we are not the favourite of the group and not the national team that if we lose the first game that we have enough quality to win the second and third game.
"Even for the top teams it is very difficult so the first game is very important."

Poland will have the support of many football fans from Ukraine, external during the World Cup. Poland had been scheduled to play a World Cup qualifier with Russia in March.
They refused to play after captain Robert Lewandowski led a boycott of the match following Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
In September, Lewandowski pledged to take an armband in the Ukraine's blue and yellow national flag colours, external to the World Cup.
"We can’t pretend that nothing is happening," said Lewandowski back in March.

Among the sea of green, we did spot a group of Poland fans who were very excited to be interviewed on a TV broadcast.
They had formed a bit of a walkway separated by bunting made of Polish flags.
They were all singing and dancing once the interview kicked in. All for show, eh?

He's got 18 goals in 19 games at Barcelona - this guy, no matter where he plays, scores goals: one goal every two games in national team football.
This stage is made for a player like that - we've seen many players down the years like a George Best, who have played for countries where you think they are not going to get an opportunity.
Lewandowski is here now and you want him to do well. When I saw this fixture, the first thing you think is 'Lewandowski' - you want to be in the stadium to see if he can produce, and hopefully he can produce today.

He's won the Bundesliga TEN times. He's won the Champions League. But 34-year-old Poland forward Robert Lewandowski has yet to score on the World Cup stage.
Is today the day he puts that straight?
"I didn't have any chances and that still hurts," says Barcelona's former Bayern Munich player about the 2018 World Cup.
"That was a failure. To score at a World Cup is a huge dream and I'm going to do everything to make this dream happen."

Mexico defender Kevin Alvarez, who starts on the bench, was aged just seven when his father, Felipe, was struck and killed by a lightning bolt. After the freak accident Alvarez swore that he would honour his father by becoming a professional footballer.
He now proudly sports a neck tattoo in English which reads 'started with a promise', in memory of his dad.

Mexico really haven't sparked at all, maybe they are saving it all for the World Cup. The great thing about the World Cup is that it's like time speeded up. A good performance today and suddenly Tata Martino is a national hero again and Mexico are on their way to that fifth game they always dream of but never seem to get.
But they are going to have to improve greatly on their warm-up performances and indeed their qualifying if they are going to make an impact this year.
