The festival atmosphere outside the ground has continued inside, with fans already urging Anthony Taylor to send off Wilfried Zaha, appealing vociferously for corners and even berating one of their own supporters for not throwing the ball back onto the pitch.

There is a sense of desperation, not helped by Crystal Palace weathering the early onslaught.

The question is will Burnley get to enjoy it in the Premier League next season.

Palace look to threaten again, but after a cross into the box is headed away, Jeffrey Schlupp miscues a shot from range wide of goal.

It's frantic stuff.

Vitaliy Mykolenko's cross is hooked out of the box by a Palace defender. Everton regather and drive forward again but can't make anything of the attack.

First real effort at goal comes from Palace, but Jordan Ayew heads it wide of goal from deep inside the box.

The Blues are furious again as what they think should be another corner - following a touch behind from Wilfried Zaha - is given as a goal-kick.

The home team and fans are certainly doing everything they can to make this place as hostile as possible.

Aston Villa can clearly play a major part in the destiny of relegation and the Premier League title given they play Manchester City on Sunday after tonight's encounter with Burnley.

But manager Steven Gerrard is keen Villa should be focussed on themselves, not the well-being of others.

"We have our own goals and ambitions to realise and the journey to achieving that starts tonight against Burnley, It's vitally important we put in two good performances tonight and against Manchester City on Sunday," he says in the match programme.

The corner is poor. Headed away at the near post. It's a real waste of a chance to test the Palace defence.

Wilfried Zaha needs to be careful.

It is going to be a fiery atmosphere tonight but you need to be careful.

You want the game to finish 11v11.

Everton, as expected, are firmly on the front foot. They have the game's first corner.

It's already kicking off a bit!

Anthony Gordon and Wilfried Zaha clash and the latter moves his hand to the former's throat after the Blues winger squared up to the Palace man. It draws players from both teams together before the ref steps in.

Everton need to stay the right side of the line, for sure. They had two men sent off against Brentford.
