By and large I think it's working. You can see that they are sitting deeper. Spain have more clarity when Germany have the ball but you can see what Germany can do. I think they're better in both boxes but they just have to get into the Spanish box, that's the problem.

I think that Hansi Flick would've approached the same way regardless [of Costa Rica's result]. What he's trying to do is settle the German team down and not concede early on. They've settled down, Sule has played really well. I think that would've been the plan.

They're not playing with an outright striker so it's about trying to keep it a little bit tight and not giving anything away. At the moment it's a point and a point could be very valuable for Germany.

The first game was a perfect scenario for Spain, and they are creating the best chances in this game too.

I didn't spot who it was earlier with the block to deny Ferran Torres. It was Jamal Musiala! Is there anything the kid can't do?

Germany have a possession figure of 31.6% at half-time - their lowest possession figure on record (1966 onwards) at the end of a World Cup match is 39% against Morocco in 1986.

Spain are controlling the game, but I understand why Jurgen is pleased with the performance of Germany.

There's not a lot in it. We're watching two of the best teams in the world play. We've been treated to some very good football. Not a lot of chances created but the football has been good to watch and I think that both managers will be very happy in the dressing room with what they saw in the first half.

I'm very pleased with Germany. They have worked themselves into the game.

They are pressing high and they aren't letting Spain having many chances.

Germany have kept Spain under wraps. Had Antonio Rudiger delayed his run from the free-kick a fraction longer, they would have that precious lead.

One of the things Thomas Muller needs to do is stay patient and stay high. He's stayed central and kept Rodri and Laporte around him which is good.

Jamal Musiala shows how it is done.

His touch is brilliant to take a ball under his spell and his next few touches are brimming with intent, forcing Sergio Busquets to bring him down to earn himself a booking.

It's another potentially dangerous German free-kick, this one central.
