Alidu Seidu is a very, very lucky man. Some refs might have produced a red for that.

Andre Silva, Rafael Leao and Goncalo Ramos are Portugal's three best attackers, why are they sat on the bench?

Moves like that from Mohammed Kudus are worth the entrance fee alone.

That was a brilliant piece of indiviudal play and it shows just how quickly and sharply he can spin an opponent. He left Ruben Neves for dead.

He's slightly dragged the shot but it was a lovely passage of play and I think the match needed it. There's not been enough of that type of play.

  4. YELLOW CARDpublished at 57 mins

    Portugal 0-0 Ghana

It's getting tetchy out there. Another yellow card and Alidu Seidu is not happy after a collision with Joao Felix. There are some afters and Felix goes down after the two players lock heads. Alidu is fortunate to escape with just a booking.

A glimpse of goal for Cristiano Ronaldo. A slight hesitation inside the box and his attempt is blocked.

Suddenly, Ghana are on the counter and Mohammed Kudus goes close with a vicious low attempt from outside the box.

A rare attack by the Black Stars prompts a huge roar from the stands. Ghana's fans are here for a good time and they are making their own entertainment due to a lack of it on the pitch.

A lot of criticism pointing towards Ronaldo but Joao Felix has offered nothing so far. Rafael Leao is the key to unlock this well organised Ghana defence.

Who says Cristiano Ronaldo doesn't track back?

Look at that big header he won in his own box in the first half.

Well, yes, it was from a corner, so he had ample time to trot back. But still...

As much as this World Cup has been brilliant for the smaller nations getting results against the big boys. There has been a real lack of quality in front of goal from virtually every team, the final pass or finish just isn't there for a lot of players. Here's hoping it improves as the tournament goes on and fitness and sharpness improves.

Same pattern, same tempo. Portugal are doing all the pressing but Ghana are well organised and disciplined at the back.

Ronaldo only needs one clear chance - but he’s not as capable as he used to be in making it himself.

I think Cristiano Ronaldo has had the best chance and probably should have scored. His touch was heavy and allowed the keeper to make a good save.

In all honesty, Ghana have been pretty comfortable, more than they would have expected.

Portugal will be thinking they need to inject more energy, physicality and cutting edge in the second half..
