Croatia have some desperate defending to do.

First the keeper Dominik Livakovic pushes out a deflected cross and needs his defence to hack clear.

Moments later, they are unpicked by Vinicius Junior who tees up Neymar.. he swivels to shoot but sees his shot blocked brilliantly by Josko Gvardiol.

Whatever Neymar does in this game, he needs to get on the ball.

When he's on it he's incredible to watch, but he was off the pace in the first half.

Like he wants to dance but he's hearing Slipknot instead of Dexy's.

Brazil straight onto the front foot, looking to make an energetic start. But a ball forward drifts harmlessly out for a Croatia goal kick.

Brazil get things going again.

Croatia are keen to crack on: they are out first and made to wait by Brazil's casual return.

Judging by the thumbs reactions to the posts, it appears this live text commentary is either full of Croatia fans or England fans wanting to see Brazil lose.

There is maybe a thought process from Brazil, we move Neymar up and add another midfielder to be more solid.

I hope they don't - they are on the edge, more attacking. If they keep the tempo higher and get their wingers in the game - we haven't seen Raphinha or Vinicius - I think they can create more quality and make more chances

Croatia right-back Josip Juranovic has been really impressive so far in this first-half.

The standout performer so far, I'd say.

There aren't many Croatia fans in here but most of them are in the stand directly next to me, and they just stood to give their players a resounding round of applause as they walked off for half-time.

I think they enjoyed that first half. The thousands of Brazil fans, maybe not so much.

While it's been engaging, it's not been mega exciting.

There were two key highlights from the first half and you can watch them here...

The Croatia midfield three of Mateo Kovacic, Marcelo Brozovic and Luka Modric have been really impressive in the first half.

They have completed 90 of their 102 passes so far, made seven tackles and recovered the ball 11 times.

They are dominating the midfield battle at the moment.

They are looking really solid at the back and of course Luka Modric is doing what Luka Modric does.
