Sunderland have come here with a mindset of trying to slow the game down, take their time.

There's nothing wrong with that and I expected it.

It's exactly what Wednesday would have done if the second leg was at the Stadium of Light. Frustrate the fans, frustrate the players.

Sheffield Wednesday have been the much better team so far. Remember all nine goals scored in games between these two this season have been by the home side.

Wednesday's Josh Windass stands on Sunderland's Luke O'Nien foot as they wait for a throw-in. Really silly and Windass is a bit lucky to avoid punishment.

Windass was annoyed by something O'Nien did a minute earlier.

The Owls are getting in plenty of positions for good chances, even if they aren't turning them into great chances.

Alex Neil is telling his Sunderland players to just calm down a little, using the universal palms down hand gesture.

Goalkeeper Antony Patterson then takes about 30 seconds to take a goal-kick... Which I would argue is being too calm.

Wednesday's Barry Bannan, twice now, has just overhit ball overs the top to Josh Windass, who is running in behind. Both on that left-hand side.

This is like me on Fifa when I just keep playing on the side nearest the TV screen.

Sunderland have only conceded two goals in seven (and this bit) away matches under Alex Neil.

In the previous seven before he took over they conceded 18.

Wednesday are having plenty of joy down the left wing. Lee Gregory flicks a ball into Massimo Luongo's path. Luongo and Marvin Johnson put in crosses but the visitors deal with them. Good defending again by Bailey Wright.

Bailey Wright needs treatment after that good bit of defending but he's back on the pitch now.

Wednesday's first real attack caused some real panic in the Sunderland defence.

They just didn't get enough quality deliveries into the Black Cats box on Friday night but that was a lovely low cross from Marvin Johnson.

Sunderland defender Dennis Cirkin is lucky to avoid a yellow card for a high challenge on George Byers. If that happened later in the game he'd definitely have been booked.

The Owls try to get their first move from the back going but keeper Bailey Peacock-Farrell misplaces a pass which flies into touch.

Alex Pritchard thinks he's fouled on the edge of the box but the referee says naaaaaah.

No away goals rule in the play-offs in case you're wondering.

Sunderland win a free-kick 40 yards out on the right wing. Alex Pritchard takes it short and it never even enters the box. A waste.
