    Leeds United

More from Leeds manager Jesse Marsch: "We knew coming into these three matches it was going to be very difficult to pick up points. We still have too much to play for. Our focus is on controlling every moment. Credit to Burnley and Everton. They have also fought for their lives. We will do the same."

  2. 'I wish he was coming home'published at 10:19 British Summer Time 10 May 2022

Leeds v Chelsea (Wed, 19:30 BST)

    Leeds United

Leeds United manager Jesse Marsch is asked if Erling Haaland will be a success in the Premier League.

Marsch had a good look at Borussia Dortmund's Haaland during his time managing in Germany.

He says: "Erling Haaland is destined to be one of the best players in the world. It's his quality but also his talent. I wish he was coming home to Leeds, his birthplace. I understand the decision to go to Manchester City. He can play any style of play but certainly I think it makes Manchester City, one of if the best teams in the world - if not the best, even better."

Sheffield Wednesday 1-1 Sunderland (Agg: 1-2)

There were some intense scenes in the away end last night as Sunderland stole a late win at Sheffield Wednesday to secure a League One play-off final slot.

They'll take on Wycombe after Patrick Roberts poked home a winner to send the travelling fans into wild celebration as their 1-1 draw was enough for a 2-1 aggregate win.

The play-offs are all kinds of right and all kinds of wrong. That passion on show at one end is contrasted with devastation as a season goes up in smoke at the other end.

Here's to you Sheffield Wednesday fans... why can't you go one better next season?

  6. Stan's derby...published at 10:05 British Summer Time 10 May 2022

Aston Villa v Liverpool (20:00 BST)

Stan Collymore bagged two for Villa in that 1998 fixture that gave them two home wins in a row over the Reds.

Back then this was the 'Stan Collymore Derby' and now it's the 'Steven Gerrard Derby'. It never really took on the 'Benteke Derby' title did it?

  7. Peak 1998...published at 10:01 British Summer Time 10 May 2022

Aston Villa v Liverpool (20:00 BST)

So Aston Villa are aiming to beat Liverpool in consecutive home league games for the first time since February 1998.

The last time they delivered such a feat, Brimful of Asha - by Cornershop - was number one in the charts.

Personally, I think that song peaked when Jerry Sinclair sang it in Phoenix Nights.

I believe we're heading to Leeds next. But we can squeeze some bits and pieces in beforehand.

Shout out to Dean Smith for saying he will add "a few bits and bobs" to his squad for the Championship.

We all need more bits and bobs in our lives do we not?

  9. Ugly form...published at 09:58 British Summer Time 10 May 2022

Leicester v Norwich (Wed, 19:45 BST)

Norwich go into the Leicester trip with one win in 12 matches in the league.

Leicester though are five without a win in the league so there's a bit of vulnerability on both sides.

  10. 'Tough motivation'published at 09:55 British Summer Time 10 May 2022

Leicester v Norwich (Wed, 19:45 BST)

    Norwich City

Norwich boss Dean Smith says he has no fresh injury concerns for Wednesday's trip to Leicester.

The Canaries of course are thinking about life in the Championship and according to Smith there is already a squad in place that can excel.

“We’ll have a review of the season about what we need in the Championship," he says.

"We’ve got a squad that we know is capable of doing well, but we want to add a few bits and bobs.

“Motivating and lifting a group that’s been relegated is tough, but the players have been made aware of what’s to play for.”

  11. 'Future captain'published at 09:52 British Summer Time 10 May 2022

Leicester v Norwich (Wed, 19:45 BST)

    Norwich City

Norwich manager Dean Smith says Sam Byram may well be "captain material" for the club.

The 28-year-old has slotted in at centre-back in recent games.

“We’ve lost both games and conceded goals, but I think Byram has been one of our better performers at centre-back," says Smith.

"Good players can play in different positions. He’s future captain material for me.”

So what's on the agenda today?

There are news conferences at Norwich, Everton and Leeds shortly. This afternoon we're at Wolves, Watford, Manchester City, Chelsea and Tottenham.

There's a big Premier League game to come tonight - 'The Steven Gerrard Derby'.

We will have a look back at a raucous Sunderland win last night and of course throw forward to so many good games this week.

The north London derby on Thursday looks set to be a night of mayhem. Bring back David Bentley and the 4-4 draw years I say.

Be big, be bold and stay with me.
