    Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest match-winner Taiwo Awoniyi to BBC Match of the Day 2: "I’m really happy about the goal – it was a dream for me to score and for the team to win.

"As a striker you just have to be ready for anything around the goal. It’s all about getting ready whether you are starting or coming on from the bench.

"We must say a very big thank you to the fans because from the beginning they got behind the team and you can see how it kept the team going until the last minute.

"I’m really happy about it because it took me a long journey to get back to the Premier League and I’m very, very proud of myself.

"The win will give more confidence to the team, it will keep us going for the next game. I believe we will have a great season as a team."

Liz: That is madness. Declan Rice is a great player. But with all the will in the world, he should never be taking a penalty with Bowen, Benrahma, Fornals and Antonio standing next to him. That is a horrible decision.

JN: Dean Henderson is mocking Man U with his performance for Forest today.

  10. 'We let in a soft goal'published at 16:28 British Summer Time 14 August 2022

    FT: Forest 1-0 West Ham

    West Ham United

West Ham keeper Lukasz Fabianski, speaking to Sky Sports: "We are very frustrated. We knew it was going to be tough. We were expecting a big battle and that was how it was from the first minute.

"They were better than us in first half but second half we had much better chances."

On the disallowed goal: I probably had the worst view on the pitch. The boys were very disappointed. Michail Antonio said the defender blocked him rather than him pushing him away.

On Forest's goal: "Every goal you concede is frustrating. We got out-played in an area of the box. We were still trying to defend it but the clearance wasn't ideal. It looked scrappy."

On the overall performance: "I think we are very experienced in the Premier League. Sometimes you get punished for little things and maybe that is what happened today. We didn't take our chances and let in a soft goal. In the first half Forest were more dominant than us."

Yet Harry Kane just keeps on doing what Harry Kane does.

The Tottenham and England striker needs two goals to break Sergio Aguero's record of most Premier League goals for a single club: 184 for Manchester City.

Kane has scored 41 Premier League London derby goals, second only to Thierry Henry (43).

However, he’s failed to score in any of his last five games against Chelsea, only having longer goalless runs against Manchester City (seven between 2017 and 2021) and Manchester United (six between 2014 and 2016) in the top flight.

Tottenham have won only seven of their 60 Premier League matches against Chelsea (drawn 20, lost 33).

And get this... they've only beaten them once in the league at Stamford Bridge since February 1990.

That was a 3-1 win in April 2018, with Christian Eriksen equalising for Spurs before Dele Alli scored twice. How times have changed for both of them.

    Chelsea v Tottenham (16:30 BST)

    Chris Sutton
    Former Premier League striker

Chelsea love playing Spurs - they beat them four times last season, and Tottenham have only beaten them once in the league at Stamford Bridge since February 1990.

Spurs boss Antonio Conte was in charge of Chelsea for that defeat - in April 2018 - but I have a sneaky feeling he will enjoy this meeting a lot more.

Chelsea got a good win at Everton, but the way they got it was not particularly pretty. If they are slightly off it again on Sunday, they won't get away with it.

Tottenham, meanwhile, were devastating in attack against Southampton and I am expecting more of the same from them here.

Add in Conte going back to Stamford Bridge, and I am going to go with Spurs to take the points.

They took the game to Saints anyway, but they also counter-attack so well when that turnover happens. When they get the ball into Kane with runners off him, they are so hard to stop.

Last season, Chelsea picked up more points away (40) than they did at Stamford Bridge (34), and they won all four meetings with Tottenham, beating them in both legs of their League Cup semi-final.

Across the four games the Blues scored eight goals and didn't concede a single one. Dominant.

They will need them today as it is stifling hot at Stamford Bridge.

I assume all those saying Everton are going down and Lampard is under pressure, are saying the same about West Ham and Moyes today?

    Anon

Let's hope Forest haven't used up all their luck for the season in one match as West Ham couldn't have done much else when you have two balls cleared off the line, a goal wrongly ruled out, a penalty miss and two balls hit the bar and bounce back up off the line!

Antonio Conte says today's game will be a good way to mark Tottenham's progress.

Spurs ended last season brightly to qualify for the Champions League and after strengthening this summer, they beat Southampton 4-1 on the opening day for their fourth straight league win - the longest current winning run in the Premier League.

Since losing 3-2 at Manchester United in March, Spurs have won the most games (nine), scored the second highest number of goals (31), and conceded the fewest goals (six) of all Premier League sides, excluding promoted teams.

"When I arrived in Tottenham (last November), I said we want to try to write a good story for this club," the Italian said.

"I knew very well it will be more difficult than other clubs for many reasons but I think we have started to go in the right path.

"For sure on Sunday it will be a difficult game but we want to play this game, I want to play this game and my players want to play this game.

"This game will be important to make the right evaluation about our improvement.

"I think this game will be very important to us whether we win, lose or draw, and then we have to be good to make the right evaluation."
