The disrespect shown by Jack Grealish towards Almiron at the end of last season was unprofessional and maybe the whole stadium would have been egging Almiron on there to score today.

No less than Newcastle deserve. They've been tremendous, creating chance after chance and get the rewards in the end. It was a matter of time before they equalised.

    It's given!

Allan Saint-Maximin cut in and whipped in a cross with Joe Willock and Miguel Almiron both unmarked in the six-yard box.

The ball went past Willock and Almiron knocked it into an empty net with his upper leg.

Joao Cancelo was keeping both of them onside, which was missed by the officials at the time.

A great response from Newcastle, creating opportunities. They've shown energy and passion to win the ball back, they've been unlucky in some occasion but been a terrific response.

John Stones gave the ball away to lead to that move, and then he was the defender beaten by Allan Saint-Maximin in the box. Not his best 30 seconds.

  15. Postpublished at 24 mins

    Newcastle 0-1 Man City

Newcastle's best chance of the game. Miguel Almiron feeds Allan Saint-Maximin (a reverse of their previous good opportunity) and ASM's drive from an angle is palmed away by the diving Ederson.

    Much better from United.

Nathan Ake can't continue. Ruben Dias takes his place at the heart of City's defence.

A huge opportunity and Almiron should be hitting the target. What a chance.
