More from Manchester United manager Erik tan Hag: "It has to be the standard for Manchester United. It has to be normal but also you celebrate every win because you have to fight for it. We learnt from our lesson in Brentford.
"There is room for improvement but there was also some really good football. The last half an hour was a survival and there I think we can do better.
"There was not always pressure on the ball but [the defenders] stayed compact and were straight in the duals. I was comfortable they would deal with it. The finish [from Bruno Fernandes] was magnificent but the part before, it was a team goal. We built it up from the back and there were some more moments straight after half time where it was well played from the team. We have to improve in possession.
"The win against Liverpool gave us a lot of belief because we knew we could compete against one of the best teams in the world. Still at the start of the season it is really tough and hard work so everyone in the squad needs to be conscious of that.
"The transfer window... you don't know what to expect. We will see. As Manchester United you always have to try do better so we can see if we can strengthen the squad, if not we will do with what we have got."

The amount of assists Liverpool get from Andy Robertson and Trent Alexander-Arnold is phenomenal, but how many pure assists do they get from the midfield?
Look at Man City, they get a lot from just behind the front line. Do Liverpool get as many as other teams? You look at the midfield three, very highly-rated players, but you are looking at it thinking they need more creativity.
Maybe they need more options.

Southampton winger Moussa Djenepo: "We give everything. It is football so sometimes you win and sometimes you lose. The most important thing is to keep going with the hard work. We played like a family on the pitch, compact and a lot of communication. We work every day.
"We will take the positive things to prepare for the next game. We are a young team and we want to learn altogether. We will find a good way together."

Southampton manager Ralph Hasenhuttl, speaking to BBC Match of the Day: “It doesn’t feel good because we deserved more today. I think we had more chances and more shots on goal. In the end we gave them one or two situations in the second half and they scored one beautiful goal. We didn’t manage to score and that was the difference today.
"Over the whole 90 minutes we tried really hard to put them under pressure. In the second half we tried a lot. Sometimes football's like this – the ball doesn't want to go in the back of the net. Today was one of those days.
"We've spent on five players the amount that Man Utd has spent on one player. That's the way we have to go. I didn't see much difference between the two teams today.
"We’ll definitely see some moves, in or out, in the next few days."
On a possible handball by Scott McTominay: "It was not one handball – it was three times. When this isn’t handball, what should I say?"

Manchester United goalscorer Bruno Fernandes, speaking to BBC Match of the Day: "I could and should have scored in the first half, but I got my chance in the second half and I'm really happy for my first goal of the season.
"They pushed us all game. We know the way they play. They are strong, intense and it's always tough to play against them, but we did what we have to do. Now it's about building and winning more games.
"I felt a big change in the group after Brentford. I felt straight away in training that we wanted to make a change in the way we play and in our results.
"We said before the game today that we set the standard high against Liverpool and not to drop below that standard."

Growing up, my opinion was always that your full-backs defend and your wingers attack. That's fine, but if you've got two of the best attacking full-backs in the world [Andy Robertson and Trent Alexander-Arnold], I'm not sure why you'd want to keep your wingers wide and your full-backs back. If it's not broke, don't fix it.
Liverpool were so difficult to play against last season, just keep it exactly as it is.

There has been lots of talk about whether Chelsea need a centre forward, do they need Anthony Gordon? But we've said all along they need a centre-back and they need one very, very quickly. They can't be in any way competitive this season without one and Wesley Fofana might just be the man they need.

Everton's bench includes Stanley Mills, the 18-year-old son of former Manchester City and England defender Danny Mills.

That's one way to get yourself into the team!

We’ve got the best view in the house today.
I’m not sure where Thomas Tuchel’s seat will be today though. He’s serving a touchline ban.
And where will Wesley Fofana be watching from? The noises around Chelsea are that his big-money move from Leicester is imminent.

I fancy Chelsea to respond from their 3-0 defeat at Elland Road. I didn't see that performance coming, they were way off it. Leeds played with far greater intensity and hunger and you don't often say that about Chelsea.
Thomas Tuchel's side have had problems with goal scoring and a number nine, but I think they will win this one.
Sutton's prediction: 2-1

Former England striker on Football Focus
With the form that he's shown in the last few games then Jack Harrison should have a chance of an England call-up because he's starting to affect football matches now on his own.
He has had to step up to be the bigger man now that Raphinha has gone.
I'm sure Southgate has already got his eye on him.
He just needs to keep doing what he is.

Leeds have really surprised me, in a good way. Their fans are quick in letting me know I haven't predicted a win for them, yet!
Their new signings have bedded in - Brenden Aaronson is getting a lot of attention, while midfielders Marc Roca and Tyler Adams have shown they are decent pieces of business as well.
These sides drew both fixtures last season and Brighton do not concede many, but I fancy them to score. However, I also think Leeds will score as well, so we will go for 1-1.
Sutton's prediction: 1-1

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag: "I think the players learnt some lessons from Brentford. We were more compact on the long balls. Of course we were really happy. The goal we created, we could have made more. You hope to have more control in the last 30 minutes of the game.
"Before half time we already had the best chance of the game. I was satisfied. At the start of the game we could have created more. It is the start of the season, it is tough. You have to battle and we did that today so we were rewarded.
"It was a fantastic finish. I am really happy for Bruno [Fernandes]. But I think it was the best part of us. We kept control straight after half time. We moved it around and we created three really good chances straight after half time and that is how I want us to play.
"I still feel there is room for improvement, to control more, but we are not that long in our way. We can improve that is clear."
On the transfer window: "I cannot say that. We stick to the plan. If a good player is available we will strike. We will be alert until the last second of the window."
