Josh: Winning a trophy would be great, but I think a lot of United fans just want to see a team that's playing together and putting the effort in week in and out. Get that working and the trophies will come.

    Leicester 0-0 Man Utd

Leicester mean business. They are charging around and launching themselves into tackles. They could well be outplayed here, but they won't be outrun.

Leicester need to be attacking those wide channels against this United side who play very narrow. Gonna be a cracker.

Vardy goes shoulder to shoulder with Lisandro Martinez. It's a big clash from two committed players. The ball goes out of play for a United goal-kick.

That's a contest to watch, though.

    CasemiroImage source, Getty Images

Disappointed as Casemiro is not in the starting line up. I think it's the right decision to let him watch for a bit and get a sense of the game and this league before coming on... kind of call that shows leadership qualities of the new manager. Also shows a loyalty to a winning team and puts onus on them to keep delivering if they want to keep their places.

    Leicester 0-0 Man Utd

One thing that is guaranteed tonight is that Jamie Vardy will go pelting after any pass Manchester United make at the back. Brentford were able to out this Reds back-line under serious pressure and prompt mistakes. The Foxes will want to do the same.

  14. KICK-OFFpublished at 20:00 British Summer Time 1 September 2022

    Leicester 0-0 Man Utd

It's a huge game. More pressure on Leicester than on Man Utd, but a defeat for either will leave them reeling.

There are transfers bubbling away elsewhere, but the actual football is all here.

Leicester City v Manchester United (20:00 BST)

    Leon Osman
Former Everton midfielder on BBC Radio 5 Live

They are behind and Erik Ten Hag is signing players for the now, that can get them back on a level footing. He feels he can trust Christian Eriksen and Casemiro. Whether he can get them all to gel to sustain a challenge, only time will tell.

  17. Sutton's predictionpublished at 19:57 British Summer Time 1 September 2022

Leicester v Man Utd (20:00 BST)

Chris Sutton takes on Tom Dowse from post-punk band Dry Cleaning to pick his winners and losers for the midweek Premier League games.

    Chris SuttonImage source, BBC Sport

    Sutton's prediction: 1-2

How do you call this? Manchester United got over the line against Southampton but Leicester need this. They really, really need this.

The Foxes do play some play some good football, Manchester United performed well against Southampton but did lack a cutting edge in the final third. They concede goals, they've conceded at least two goals every game so far in the Premier League this season.

Manchester United got their their first clean sheet away from home with Lisandro Martínez and Raphael Varane looking good in defence. I can see Leicester scoring but I think their leaky defence has been a problem and Kasper Schmeichel has been a big loss in goal with how he commanded that back line.

    Tom's prediction: 1-0

There is something not quite right about the Leicester squad, especially at the back. I don't think this will be a thriller but I have a feeling Leicester will nick it - their attack is actually still quite good.

  18. 'Minimum return for Man Utd is a top-four finish'published at 19:56 British Summer Time 1 September 2022

Leicester City v Manchester United (20:00 BST)

    Nigel Reo-Coker
Former West Ham midfielder on BBC Radio 5 Live

A realistic aspiration for Manchester United is a top-four finish - Champions League football. That's what they are going to want minimum in return. They have invested heavily, but I will always question their recruitment because you don't see a plan, end goal and what direction the club is heading in.
