I think that Frank Lampard, aside from perhaps the last couple of minutes before half-time when Liverpool really built some momentum, will be pretty happy so far. Both sides have come really close to goals and it has been fiery as well. Kostas Tsimikas has really been getting stuck in. He's had a couple of comings together - one with Anthony Gordon, one with Demari Gray. The home fans think he should have been booked, but the only yellow card of the game so far has gone to Amadou Mvom Onana for a body check on Fabio Carvalho. Somehow, though, it remains 0-0.

Roberto Firmino is currently getting some instructions from a Liverpool staff member down on the pitch. Are we going to see him for the second half?

Yes Mahesh, and Everton are in a relegation scrap already because the only team they ever try to compete against is Liverpool.
Rob
No matter who manages either side and whoever is out there on the pitch, the Merseyside Derby always underwhelms and invariably goes into halftime at 0-0. Most overrated rivalry in football.

Everton have failed to score a first-half goal in 4 of their 6 games, only West Ham United (5) and today's opponents Liverpool (5) have failed to score more often in the Premier League this season.
However, the Toffees have stopped the opposition from scoring a first-half goal in 4 of their 6 games, only Brighton & Hove Albion (5) and Arsenal (5) have done this more often in the Premier League this season.

Jon Evans: I think the key issue for Liverpool is the midfield. Look at the players they have playing there currently in comparison to the last couple of seasons. 19 and 20 year olds, they'll be good players but need a few years. Massively weakens the set up.
London Money: Prediction: 0-0 until the final minute. Klopp brings on Arthur for the winner. Tomorrows headlines: " King Second-Halfer"
Everton 0-0 Liverpool
Applause greets the whistle. The home fans are happy.
It has been an even contest between two fiercely competitive teams. Both have hit the woodwork - Liverpool doing it twice in a minute.
It remains 0-0, though, and firmly there for the taking.
Everton 0-0 Liverpool
Now Everton fancy a goal before the break. They work it neatly into the box and it takes a well-timed Trent Alexander-Arnold intervention to prevent Tom Davies getting a sight of goal.

Darwin Nunez and Luis Diaz hit the woodwork at one end after Tom Davies did the same for Everton at the other, so both sides hit the woodwork but it remains goalless.

Virgil van Dijk meets the corner, but his header is as he is dropping from his leap and makes for easy clearing.
Everton 0-0 Liverpool
Liverpool come on strong at the end of the half. They win a corner.
Everton 0-0 Liverpool
Wait... what?!
Liverpool hit the woodwork twice in the space of a few seconds. The first is down to Jordan Pickford, who palms Darwin Nunez's goalbound shot on the bar after the striker chests a long ball down before hitting it.
Luis Diaz quickly regathers the ball and cuts in from the left before curling an effort on to the inside of the far post.
The ball runs along the goalline and goes dead for a goal-kick. Phew.

Mahesh: Everton are bossing Liverpool. Don't understand how people keep saying title race is between City and Liverpool. Liverpool are in a top 4 fight at best.
Dutch: Liverpool at the minute resemble Superman when he's exposed to Kryptonite. Fabinho can't tackle, Trent can't cross and Salah can't score, could we please get them their superpowers back asap!
Everton 0-0 Liverpool
Carvalho returns to the action.
Everton 0-0 Liverpool
With Carvalho still off the pitch, Liverpool threaten.
The initial free-kick is headed away, but only as far as Mo Salah, who crosses for Darwin Nunez to head over. Jordan Pickford had it covered.
Everton 0-0 Liverpool
Fabio Carvalho needs a bit of treatment and limps over the touchline to receive it.
Everton 0-0 Liverpool
Harvey Elliott's cross is a decent one and on its way towards a trio of Liverpool players in the box. Conor Coady is placed perfectly, though. He heads away.
Soon after, Amadou Onana oversteps the line by going in late on Fabio Carvalho and becomes the first player into the book.
As you'd expect, Jurgen Klopp has plenty to say about it to the fourth official.
