JoeD: Wait for Everton to try and kick Liverpool off the pitch, and for Gordon to fling himself to the ground at every opportunity.

A.R.P: If there’s a fixture where you probably start Milly, it’s this one. With the experience he has… Little risky from Klopp, but Everton will let us have the ball - be interesting to see how the young’uns cope.

  20. 'Something seemed amiss at Anfield'published at 12:27 British Summer Time 3 September 2022

    Everton v Liverpool (12:30 BST)

    Alan Shearer
Former England striker on BBC Radio 5 Live

I would have said the title was over for Liverpool, if they hadn't have scored that last-minute winner against Newcastle, such is the greatness of their opponents [Manchester City].

We have seen how tight it has been over the last few years, whether it has been a point that has decided it [the title], so every point is crucial.

I wasn't impressed with the way they played. Anfield was quiet, something seemed amiss. Virgil Van Dijk didn't look anywhere near what we saw last season and the season before. Andy Robertson has paid the price for that. Trent Alexander-Arnold didn't, Mo Salah didn't.

They are going to have to improve a lot to get back into the title race and get a result today.
