Robert: 15 mins in and watching the paint dry is riveting compared to this.

Stephanie: I once ate a honey sandwich that turned out to have raw onions inside. It was a horrible false dawn. I feel like this represents Everton's recent good form. It might look like honey, but their future is littered with raw onions.

Anon: Spurs have looked poor all season, and yet are comfortably in touching distance of the leaders. Could this be their year? They will surely improve with the quality they have.

Nick: l like the energy Richarlison brings but fear he just isn't good enough.

A great tackle from Cristian Romero to deny Amadou Onana, who had raced all the way to the byline with a good run down the left.

Onana wanted a corner but Romero made sure he got the last touch.

Everton just can't get close to Tottenham. It's always difficult to play a back five when you haven't worked on it much, especially when they are coming to Tottenham who are flying in this stadium.

Nick: Surely Spurs are in the title race with Arsenal & Man City with a win today?

Paul: Everton made Man Utd look better than they actually are so guessing they’ll make spurs look better than they are too. Joke team. Sitting back already. You’re a poor team if you’re sitting back against a spurs team who themselves sit back against actual decent sides.

Wonderful ball from Perisic, it's curling away but the timing of Richarlison's jump wasn't great. It was a let off for Everton but it should have been on target.

  14. 'We did more to win the match'published at 17:39 British Summer Time 15 October 2022

    FT: Fulham 2-2 Bournemouth

    Fulham

Fulham manager Marco Silva speaking to Premier League Productions: "We did more to win the match, I think that is clear for everyone. We conceded a goal in the first minute coming from nowhere. There was too much space for Solanke to receive the ball and we should have done better. I congratulate our boys for the reaction after the first goal, it was a very good reaction. We levelled the game but we were punished again.

"At half-time we changed, of course, and we had lots more quality on the ball. We controlled the second half, we played in the last 30 metres of the pitch. It was a game for us to score more than two goals but my players tried everything.

"It's another point and we have to go again. I'm really proud. It is not easy. After another goal from them for 2-1 when it is clear we are on the front foot, I have to be pleased with the character of the players."

On the penalty decision: "I have seen it and I understand what Gary [O'Neil] is saying, but for sure Gary saw our game at West Ham last week."

On Aleksandar Mitrovic's return: "We are not here to take risks with the players. We want to take care of them and get them in as good a condition as possible. Yesterday he trained with the team and he gave me the feedback that he was ready to start."

  17. 'I liked us without the ball, not with it'published at 17:37 British Summer Time 15 October 2022

    Wolves 1-0 Nottingham Forest

    Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest manager speaking to BBC's Match of the Day: "Obviously I am disappointed with the result. I liked us without the ball in the first half but not without it.

"We had our moments in the first half and the message at half-time was to keep going in terms of the stuff without the ball as I couldn't see us conceding.

"Unfortunately, it took us going behind to get going with the ball.

"We got the penalty, but that has not gone our way.

"In the end need, though, we need to do better with the ball.

"With the way we train and play, we always have a good idea what we want to do with the ball, but for large parts of the game, especially in the first half, we just didn't do that.

"That's disappointing. We know we have to be a better defending unit, but when we do get the ball, you have to do better at this level."

This will be a game where Spurs want to set the tone and control the possession. They're making sure to push up really high in the wide areas.
