Everton manager Frank Lampard speaking to Match of the Day: "The shape of the team was good, the defensive discipline was good. You have two good chances and you have to take those chances because they change the feeling of the game.
"We're probably in that middle ground now where people have given us a bit of praise. This season was always going to be about getting better from nearly getting relegated and now we're playing against a Champions League team - sometimes that shows a little bit."
On Amadou Onana's performance: "He had a good game and that's what we bought him for. He did some really big individual defensive actions and had a chance to score which he'll be disappointed in."

More from Antonio Conte on Richarlison injury: "We don’t know, we hope it is not so serious he felt a problem in his calf.
"He will have an MRI to understand it tomorrow, we hope it is not serious."

Tottenham manager Antonio Conte speaking to Sky Sports: "We have to be really happy because in my opinion we played a good game, we created a lot of chances and had injuries during the game. That could have created something negative but we found a right solution to the game. I liked our attitude, we started very well and had to pay attention in the first half.
"I think Yves Bissouma was the best solution because he enjoys playing in front of central defenders with two midfielders behind him.
"Despite the difficulty of the game, we are talking about a good opponent and despite the injuries we were able to solve the situation. That means the players are growing in many aspects. I am very proud of the players.
"I think our fans will enjoy this performance and we hope to continue this way."

Everton
Everton manager Frank Lampard speaking to Sky Sports: "In the first half [it was] really disciplined, didn't give Spurs the spaces they wanted. We had two great chances and they can be the difference in these games.
"If you take one of these chances you probably don't lose tonight. There's no doubt we came out in the second half slightly off it. The penalty is the difference in the game - I thought until then everything we were doing was good.
"If you watch Tottenham a lot, you know where there strengths are and you have to be adaptable. I've watched Tottenham and they're happy to defend deep in their half and have a plan to attack.
"They're in the Champions League and we're trying to move up the table. Maybe there are some signs for me as a coach and as a team for where we can improve."

Talk of an England recall had been rife for James Maddison lately, despite Leicester's desperate start to the season.
His performance in the recent 4-0 win over Nottingham Forest showed exactly what the 25-year-old offers on his day, but with England boss Gareth Southgate in the King Power Stadium stands against Crystal Palace on Saturday, he may have failed his final audition.
It was a game Leicester needed to win after one victory in nine, but nerves got the better of them as they endured a 0-0 stalemate.
Maddison, as he usually does, showed glimpses of his class, but failed to inspire his side to a second victory this season as he did their first.
A booking for simulation in stoppage time means he misses Thursday's clash with Leeds, and will not play before Southgate names his provisional World Cup squad.
Leicester City were unable to ease the pressure on manager Brendan Rodgers as they were held to a frustrating goalless draw by Crystal Palace.
Bournemouth remain unbeaten under interim manager Gary O'Neil following an entertaining 2-2 draw with Fulham.
A pre-match social media wind-up backfired badly on Nottingham Forest at Molineux as Ruben Neves gave Wolves a narrow win.
Harry Kane marked his 400th Tottenham appearance with the opening goal as Antonio Conte's side closed the gap on Premier League leaders Arsenal with victory over Everton.

Everton
Everton's Amadou Onana speaking to Sky Sports: "We had two big chances in the first half. If we score them it could be another game. Spurs did very well, they didn't need many chances to score.
"That penalty broke us down mentally but we haven't got time to feel sorry for ourselves. We've got to bounce back at Newcastle."
On his chance: "I have got to do better, at least get it on target. But when I wanted to shoot, the ball jumps a bit, so I put it over."
On Everton's game plan: "It worked. We stayed compact and did very well and stayed together. If we scored those chances, it maybe would have been another game. We can definitely build on that."

Anon: Hojbjerg is the beating heart Spurs are built around, incredible player, indispensable for that team.

Tottenham midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg: "When you play every three days, you need to be able to maintain the level by doing the right things."
On formation changes: "When you play with two in the middle and turn to three, it gives you an extra man. You can find your position and be a bit more patient. It helped us maintain the ball, which we need to do better."

If Everton only have 4 shots in the whole game and don't have any on target they aren't going to score goals. They have to be braver and the attackers they do have need to start earning their money.

Tottenham (W7, D2, L1) have won 23 points from their 10 Premier League games this season.
That's their highest points tally at this stage of a top-flight campaign since 1963-64.
They have also won 11 of their last 12 Premier League home games, including eight matches in a row.
Antonio Conte has never lost (P7, W5, D2) or conceded a goal against Everton in the Premier League as manager.
Everton have won just two of their 14 away Premier League games under Frank Lampard.

Tottenham striker Harry Kane speaking to Sky Sports: "We had to be patient. The spaces opened up as they got tired; thankfully we kept knocking on the door and got a couple of chances. It was a really good win.
On his battle with England team-mate Jordan Pickford: "He made a couple of good saves and I snuck the penalty past him. Happy to get on the scoresheet again; it has been a tough week with loads of games. We've got to recover well and get ready for Wednesday.
"Whenever you miss a penalty the next one is the most important one. I've practiced so many against Jordan and I feel like I'm coming up againat a lot of English keepers this season. It was nice to get that one, it was really important."

Steven: Yes a defeat, but Spurs players celebrating like they've won 6 points. We are now a tough game. Special build in progress!
Reza: Lampard is lucky he's an English 'darling'. Tottenham have created 5 times more goal chances than Everton who've had none on target. Mangers can't put the ball in the net but they can set up a team that can. Former superstar players are good for coming in and showing payers some love and appeasing fans but always ultimately get found out . Can't buy experience. Get rid.

Good performance from Spurs. They started really well. The quality was there. There were some good performances from the team. A great evening for Spurs. Antonio Conte realises that was a big performance from his side. Now the real test is Manchester United on Wednesday.

Harry Kane and Jordan Pickford are having a discussion. Kane has a smile on his face and Pickford shrugs as he walks off.
I think we all know what that would have been about...
