Richarlison had some good spells and has got into some good areas so far. Maybe he has some tightness in his calf or some fatigue.

Jimmy: People criticising Conte should remember this is his first full season in charge. It's taken Arteta 6 transfer windows to get the team he wants so let's give the Italian some time before we judge him.

Dwight McNeil does well to head behind a looping cross as Matt Doherty was creeping in at the back post.

Ivan Perisic plays the corner shot to Son Heung-min and it's switched across to Pierre-Emile Højbjerg. He then puts it straight out for a goal kick.

Durds: Conte is so overrated. He is stubborn, everyone on earth can see spurs need an extra midfielder on the pitch. As for Richarlison, Everton are welcome to have him back.

Andy: Folks seem to love bashing Everton, didn’t like it when we spent money, people loved to point out our bad defending, don’t like it when we have a sensible game plan against a team who bought our best player last season, counter-attacking like most teams.

A breakdown of where the play was in that first half. Lots of loose passes in midfield, though Spurs had more of the ball in the opposition half. Everton should have gone ahead with those chances. Harry Kane's effort was Spurs' only shot on target. Everton had none.

Robert: Feel like I aged 20 years watching that half, hopefully the 2nd half is better.

Jake: Richarlison is an average player. How on earth did Spurs think it was good business to pay £60m for him?

Daniel: How has Pickford not been booked or sent off? Twice he has run half the length of the pitch to try and get a Spurs player booked. I might understand the first going unpunished but not the second. He is the goalkeeper not the captain.

I'm not sure why there is frustration from the Spurs supporters, their side have done well. Full credit to both sides, it has been a really interesting first half. It looked like it was going to be out of reach for Everton because Spurs were that comfortable but they have come back into it.

Not too much to get excited about. Everton have had the best chances despite Spurs controlling possession. Lacking quality from both sides.

Oooh. Son Heung-min flicks it on to Harry Kane with his heel. He whips it in early across the face of the goal and Richarlison can't get there ahead of Vitalii Mykolenko, who deflects it just over his own bar. Richarlison has pushed him anway so a goalkick is given.

Son Heung-min's delivery is headed behind by Amadou Onana and his corner is then dealt with awkwardly by Jordan Pickford under pressure from Eric Dier.

Tottenham could cause some damage from these set-pieces.

Bentancur with a strange header. Romero, Højbjerg, nobody took charge. Onana drove right through the centre, Dier was diving desperately.

It just goes over the bar, huge chance for Everton.

Dwight McNeil completely misjudges his tackle, sliding in rashly on Rodrigo Bentancur to get a yellow card and give away a free-kick.

Anon: Kane should have gone to City. He would easily get 35 goals in that team. At Spurs he's definitely having his full potential held back.

Paul: Which team is actually being managed by Conte here? I ask that because both are negative and pretty dull.
