Well we wondered if this game would come to life and boy has it! That's a huge miss from Jota, he just had to head it down.

Pep Guardiola has got that wrong [with his reaction], it was a foul from Haaland on Fabinho.
Liverpool 0-0 Man City
HOW?
This game has just burst to life within seconds. Liverpool immediately respond.
Mohamed Salah chips it across to Diogo Jota but he heads it over the bar from close range!
How has he not scored? Wow.
Liverpool 0-0 Man City
Erling Haaland is said to have tugged back Fabinho to win the ball and it's been ruled out!
Liverpool 0-1 Man City
There's a VAR check here... Was there a foul in the build-up?

Haaland is so quick but Alisson is saying he has two hands on that ball and that he has it under control. I'm not so sure there's enough control.
Phil Foden
Wow. Within minutes of that huge Mohamed Salah chance, City split apart Liverpool's defence as Erling Haaland is found in the middle.
He gets there before Alisson, it falls to Phil Foden and he smashes it over the line despite Joe Gomez's best efforts to keep it out.

Andrew: A world-class save from Ederson. City’s high line completely exposed.
Liverpool 0-0 Man City
Ederson is going to try and carry on but he will get Ruben Dias to take this goal kick for him.
What a stunning save. How important will that prove to be.

It's a brilliant touch from Firmino and he slides Salah through. He sees Ederson coming out, Salah is trying to find the far corner and it's a sensational save from Ederson. What an excellent piece of goalkeeping. Just how big a save could that be?
Liverpool 0-0 Man City
Ederson is getting treatment now too. He looked like he twisted his ankle as he went to save that. Stefan Ortega is warming up just in case.
Liverpool 0-0 Man City
Liverpool immediately break through the centre. Roberto Firmino plays in Mohamed Salah, he's through on goal but he can't score! Ederson gets a crucial fingertip touch on it. A goalkick is given because the save is so fine but it's such an important one.
Liverpool 0-0 Man City
Manuel Akanji comes in behind Diogo Jota to give away a free-kick. Liverpool switch it across via Thiago but he takes too long on the ball and City win possession.
It almost comes through to Erling Haaland but it's intercepted.

I think Pep will be really disappointed with the first half display from City. Maybe they have shown too much respect for Liverpool who have lacked confidence and belief so far this season. I'm surprised that City didn't really get at them more.
Liverpool 0-0 Man City
James Milner just about manages to prevent a City corner in a fairly subdued start to the second half.

JavelBleach: One thing that's certain about this game - Haaland WILL get his goal! He's been unlucky so far, & Liverpool aren't stopping these De Bruyne crosses to him.
FT: Leeds 0-1 Arsenal
Arsenal
More from Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta to BBC: "I think we started really well, we had some terrific moments, we should have put two or three in the net but we didn’t and in the second half it was very different. A match more like what we expected, the way they play and the atmosphere you expect in this stadium.
"After that it was survive, we showed a lot of resilience and willingness to win especially going back to Norway on a Thursday night then coming here, I am so proud of the boys that is how you have to win football matches.
"Credit to our goalkeeper, and VAR was in the right place and with the power on it to make the right decision at the end that could have changed the game."
On Bukayo Saka: "He is full of confidence, top quality , a really difficult execution from that angle, that’s what we want from our players."
On the second half: "We put ourselves in big trouble , we started to lose one or two balls and they generated that momentum, that chaotic circle that is difficult to get away from, and we struggled."
Liverpool 0-0 Man City
Back under way for the second half at Anfield.

Arsenal
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta speaking to BBC Match of the Day: "It is very special for us, to have that level of consistency, to win in many different contexts. Today was a very special context after Thursday, after coming here, then no power, then the delay, with the VAR decision, with the way we have to suffer in the second half, I think this team deserves some credit."
