VAR are looking to see if Callum Wilson fouled Hugo Lloris there.

Harry Kane goes close and it would not have been a typical Kane goal. He gets the ball deep in his own half and shows good pace to run 70 yards and beat Fabian Schar on the edge of the box with some nice skill before forcing a good save from Nick Pope's legs.

What a goal that would have been.

Brilliant defending from Joelinton, he did get the ball. Great tracking back.

Harry Kane has a shot blocked from distance and Spurs try to keep the pressure on but Emerson Royal is tackled.

You can see why they haven't conceded many goals this season, the back four are really tight together, the full backs don't really get across the halfway line that much. The Newcastle defence are resilient, that's for sure.

How weird does it feel that a three-week injury 11 or 12 games into the season could cost you a World Cup place?

Oh oh. Newcastle striker Callum Wilson's looping volley lands in the gloves of Hugo Lloris.

That's not the oh oh bit.

But Wilson goes down holding his shin. He was caught by Clement Lenglet accidentally.

We're at that stage now where any injury can end your World Cup dream.

Wilson is back up and playing on though.

Kane drops so deep and you want to see him in the box but you know he's the one who can pick that pass. Good defending from Schar to stop Sessegnon's effort.

Nick Pope flaps at the corner and Rodrigo Bentancur and Eric Dier both have shots blocked.

Oliver Skipp finds Ryan Sessegnon in a million acres of space on the left. He blasts a shot in which is blocked by Premier League centurion Fabian Schar.

Good defending by Kieran Trippier to stop Ryan Sessegnon causing mayhem after he kept in Emerson Royal's overhit crossfield ball. Clement Lenglet's follow-up cross is headed away.

Eric Dier put some pace on that! He wasn't looking and Lloris was backpedalling. If that was on target, Lloris wouldn't have saved that.

Eric Dier almost scores a pure comedy own goal that the TV cameras didn't even catch live as there was no danger of nothing happening.

He has the ball on the edge of his box, turns round and powers a backpass to Lloris, who has no hope of reaching it. It rolls just wide of the post.

Amazing stat. Son Heung-min has only touched the ball five times - and four of them have been shots.

Same as some of the people I used to play football with at lunchtime in Ard Scoil Mhuire, Bruff in Limerick.

It's been a good game. Newcastle were the better team for the first 10 minutes but Tottenham are growing into the game.

Well it terms of chances it is. Newcastle United have had 72.4% possession over the opening 15 minutes.

Oliver Skipp asks a bit too much of Son Heung-min with a through ball but it really is all Spurs here.

Good play by Spurs full-backs. Emerson Royal nutmegs Joe Willock and plays it out to Ryan Sessegnon. His cross is headed away before it reaches Harry Kane and Yves Bissouma blazes over.
