Brenden Aaronson does well to cut inside off the right and pick out Rodrigo with a through-ball across the centre. He's all on his own though and it's an easy save for Alisson when it's hit at him from a tight angle.

Peter: All these Liverpool fans complaining about this, that and the other. Yes, it's not as good as last season, but you do know Leeds are entitled to try to win the game too? They don't have to just come to Anfield and lose. The PL standard means small errors are costly!

    Liverpool 1-1 Leeds

Andy Robertson has been very good for Liverpool and he goes on a great run down the left, beating three players before his cross is deflected inches past the far post by Robin Koch.

Roberto Firmino couldn't quite get there but he was convinced it was going in as he put his arms in the air on the goalline.

Tyler Adams is put under pressure by Andy Robertson, who ends up fouling him. Adams isn't happy about it and there's a bit of pushing and shoving. Michael Oliver comes across to have a little word. All very needless.

Trent Alexander-Arnold's corner is punched away to Harvey Elliott. The ball is spinning as he tries to control it and ends up firing it way over the bar. He ruffles his hair in frustration.

    Liverpool 1-1 Leeds

Mohamed Salah takes over as Liverpool break in the middle. He has Darwin Nunez to his left and Harvey Elliott to his right. Their runs make a little space for him to shoot in the middle and he goes alone but it's a poor effort and Illan Meslier just scoops it up.

Adam 20:11: just read what you wrote & tell me it's not complete garbage! 3 finals & a few minutes away from 4 trophies then. Now, list other teams who have come as close. Clue: there aren't any!

    Phil, Lichfield

Re Adam @20:11 - how is getting to 3 cup finals and finishing second in the league any sign of a team being full of cracks? Even if Liverpool had lost both finals it would still have been an impressive achievement, getting so far in every competition.

Pascal Struijk spots the space in behind Liverpool's high line and picks out Rodrigo. He has time to find a cross but the effort from Brenden Aaronson is deflected up and falls comfortably into the arms of Alisson.

Zahi: That Darwin miss in a 1-v-1 vs the keeper is even more frustrating than the gift from Gomez that led to the Leeds goal.

    FootballThoughts: Origi would've lobbed that.

Andy Robertson whips it back into the middle, looking for Fabinho, but it comes to Thiago. He heads it back instead of going for goal and Leeds can rush it away.

Urban Bourbon: Not making excuses (guess I am), but aren't people forgetting the horrendous injuries and absences Liverpool have suffered from? Nunez red card aside, there's been injuries to Konate, Thiago, Keita, Fabinho, Diaz, Jota. Got to matter?!

Lyndsey: Absolutely fed up of so called fans slating the players. Gomez has had an awful injury and huge period out. Give the lad a break!

I very much enjoyed watching Rasmus Kristensen passionately punch the air after making that crucial interception to prevent Mohamed Salah running through, blocks like that are like goals for defenders.

Leeds may be struggling for wins, but it does feel like their performances are not getting the results they warrant - they have been full of fight and desire so far in this game.

We are not troubling the top 4 this season. We are so bad at the back and dreadful in midfield. Should have recruited this summer. It will cost us.

Liverpool board have got to act soon, lack of proper investment has put Liverpool in this situation.

Illan Meslier does really well as he closes in quickly on Darwin Nunez after he's played in by an excellent Trent Alexander-Arnold pass.

Nunez tries to cut onto his right foot and beat Meslier but the goalkeeper slides in well to block him.

Christopher: Liverpool's defenders get a lot of stick, but they aren't helped by the fact that Liverpool's midfield is like Swiss cheese.

Kiefer: Short term memory for Liverpool fans, the same fans that claimed this Liverpool side were the best team to ever grace the Premier League last season?!

Half an hour gone. A goal and two shots on target for each. Liverpool with 67% possession but Leeds have had the better chances.

Rasmus Kristensen does well here to stop Mohamed Salah racing in on Illan Meslier.

Still not clicking for Liverpool. They have a few minutes with the ball then Fabinho sends it over to Andy Robertson but it's too heavy. It bounces out for a throw-in.
