    Chelsea 0-0 Manchester City

Coombs lofts a pass from City's left flank into the penalty area, causing uncertainty among Chelsea's defenders.

Chloe Kelly does well to bring the ball down after Magda Eriksson fails to conclusively intervene, but can only poke a tame shot into Berger's arms.

This has been end-to-end stuff in the opening moments.

  2. Postpublished at 5 mins

    Chelsea 0-0 Manchester City

Kerr picks up the ball inside the penalty area on the right and steers a low cross towards goal. Roebuck gathers comfortably.

    Chelsea 0-0 Manchester City

Khadija Shaw's determined work pays off as City recover from that excellent early opportunity for Chelsea.

The forward drives inside the penalty area on the right, holds off two markers and wins a corner that Chelsea clear.

    Good work from City.

    Chelsea 0-0 Manchester City

Chelsea create a chance from kick-off!

Millie Bright launches a long ball into the Manchester City penalty area on Chelsea's left, where Sam Kerr nods the ball on to Fran Kirby beyond her.

Kirby returns the pass but Kerr can only nudge the opportunity wide of the near post from close range. Chelsea should have scored!

Chelsea v Manchester City (16:00 BST)

    Jess Anderson
    BBC Sport at Kingsmeadow

It is a sell out crowd here today at the home of Chelsea women but, having been at Emirates yesterday for that incredible match between Arsenal and Tottenham in front of a record crowd, this feels a little bit... different, shall we say.

Having said that it's a nice ground Kingsmeadow and all the stands are lined with Chelsea flags and banners of Emma Hayes. It should be a good atmosphere.

Manchester City manager Gareth Taylor said he wasn't surprised to see Chelsea lose at Liverpool in their opening game because of the quality he feels all of the WSL clubs have this season.

"It's the same with Aston Villa - a completely different team from last season with lots of changes," he said of his side's 4-3 defeat at Villa Park. "When those players play well, anyone can beat anyone.

"Regardless of the team we pick, we’re expecting a good level and will try to make it difficult for Chelsea on their own patch. We know it's going to be a really tough game - it’s their first home game but we’re looking forward to the challenge.

"We’ll hopefully show a better version of ourselves without the ball this time. That’s been really key and it was a bit of a surprise that we weren’t quite as effective without the ball because we know if we do that, we’ll always score goals."

One of the main games today is Manchester City's trip to reigning champions Chelsea.

Blues and England duo Chloe Kelly and Lauren Hemp were the featured pair on Football Focus' Honesty Cards this weekend.

Hemp revealed that she tried gravy on pasta recently...

That is a no from me.

What about you? Thumbs up for yeah, I'd give that a go or thumbs down for nah, that's disgusting.

  9. FULL-TIMEpublished at 15:55 British Summer Time 25 September 2022

    Brighton 2-1 Reading

All over. Brighton continue their impressive record at the Amex.

A first win of the season for Brighton, while Reading's winless runs stretches into a 12th game. They've lost nine of those now.

They've started the season with two defeats and it is six goals conceded and just one scored.

  10. goal

GOAL - Brighton 2-1 Readingpublished at 90+4 mins

    Charlie Wellings

    Surely a consolation?

A cross from the right is not cleared properly by Brighton and it falls for substitute Charlie Wellings, who drills it into the roof of the net.

There was never going to be a risk of Chelsea dwelling on their defeat at Liverpool. “Move on,” said manager Emma Hayes, when she was asked about their response to the setback, in which Chelsea conceded two penalties in a WSL game for the first time. “Well played, Liverpool.

“I always think there are so many leaders in the dressing room and they’re so accountable, so mature. One improvement I have seen in the team is their response to things collectively, not going inwards. Everybody’s really given the best they can this week.

“What we’ve been talking about internally, in terms of how we want to control the game, has to improve. I want to see our team implement what we work so hard on in training.

“We know that there are two top teams on show. It’s a sell-out crowd and I’m sure both teams will create great entertainment.”

  12. HALF-TIMEpublished at 15:51 British Summer Time 25 September 2022

    Leicester 0-1 Aston Villa

    DalyImage source, Getty Images

Daly's cool third-minute penalty makes the difference at the break, giving Villa the lead in this Midlands derby.

All but five of Villa's points last season came away from home and they are halfway to taking another three on the road here - but it hasn't been easy for them since that goal and they've been under pressure for much of the game.

Leicester have repeatedly prospered on the right, where Simon has gone some way to atoning for conceding that spot kick by setting up several opportunities, although their only effort on target came late in the half through Pike's speculative effort.

Will the Foxes wait until the second half to score, as they did in their 2-1 defeat against Tottenham on the opening weekend? Bedford will be urging her players to make sure the scoresheet reflects their superiority.

  13. Euro stars recognisedpublished at 15:50 British Summer Time 25 September 2022

Chelsea v Manchester City (16:00 BST)

    Jess Anderson
    BBC Sport at Kingsmeadow

There is a short presentation happening here before the game kicks off for Chelsea's Euro-winning England stars.

Millie Bright, Fran Kirby, Beth England and Jess Carter each receive an award and a big cheer from the crowd for their exploits over the summer.

This is their first home game of the season so the players are being recognised for their contribution to that historic day.

  14. HALF-TIMEpublished at 15:48 British Summer Time 25 September 2022

    West Ham 0-0 Man Utd

    All-square at the break.

The visitors almost find the breakthrough with the final action of the half, but Millie Turner's header goes wide.

They have undoubtedly been the better team but they haven't tested Mackenzie Arnold enough in the West Ham goal.

  15. GREAT SAVE!published at 87 mins

    Brighton 2-0 Reading

    What a save!

Veatriki Sarri crosses in from the left for the hosts and it is met by the outstretched leg of Elisabeth Terland.

It looked destined for the back of the net but a strong hand by Grace Moloney keeps it out.

    An unbelievable stop.

  16. Postpublished at 43 mins

    Leicester 0-1 Aston Villa

Leicester win another corner on the left. Villa clear, and Pike takes aim from a considerable distance out, lofting in a shot that cannot match power to its accuracy, allowing Hampton to gather.

Lehmann then scampers nimbly inside the penalty area to the right at the other end, cutting back a low cross that is sent behind by the alert Howard.

Villa do little with the resulting corner from their right. Ward's side are closing in on a half-time lead.

  17. Postpublished at 43 mins

    West Ham 0-0 Man Utd

    That's lovely from Ella Toone.

She picks up the ball, turns with it and threads a beautiful pass through for Lucia Garcia.

The Spaniard hesitates a little bit though and it allows Lisa Evans to slide in and get the ball out for a corner.

The set piece is gathered by a commanding Mackenzie Arnold. Good keeping!

  18. GREAT SAVE!published at 82 mins

    Brighton 2-0 Reading

Almost an immediate response from Reading.

Lauren Wade picks the ball up in the area and drills towards goals before Megan Walsh, at full stretch, claws it away.

  19. goal

GOAL - Brighton 2-0 Readingpublished at 80 mins

    Katie Robinson

    That's the points wrapped up.

This is a really good goal by the hosts. They win the ball back with some excellent pressing and free Lee Geum-Min.

She cuts inside, draws two defenders to the ball and releases for Katie Robinson.

The 20-year-old takes a touch before sending the ball across the goal, into the far corner.

  20. Postpublished at 37 mins

    West Ham 0-0 Man Utd

West Ham are definitely growing into this game.

They send a cross in from the right and Viviane Asseyi hooks towards goal and it slashed away off the line.
