The visitors are absolutely dominating this game at the moment.

Spain full-back Ona Batlle sends a cross in from the right and it flicks off the top of the bar and goes behind.

Ella Toone then has an effort deflected behind for a corner, which results in goalmouth scramble, but West Ham eventually clear.

  7. 'Villa attack can create a moment of magic'published at 14:58 British Summer Time 25 September 2022

Leicester manager Bedford was impressed but unsurprised by Aston Villa's win against Manchester City and expects them to press with similar intent against her side this afternoon.

“One of the things Villa have done is recruit a handful of players that have dangerous attributes in front of goal," she said. "Rachel Daly scored two of their goals last week and she’s a natural goalscorer. The goal she scores from the set piece is audacious on the half turn and to finish, one-touch in the front post area, shows the level that she is capable of playing at.

“Then you take Kenza Dali’s long strike, and she was doing that for Everton last year. I’m not overly surprised that some of their players are capable of that. You’ve seen them do it previously. Across the pitch, they’ve got some quality players that started the game at the weekend.

“They’ve taken Kirsty Hanson on loan from Manchester United and she debuted for them, so I think all across that front line and the four players who were involved in their build-up in those areas are all players who, given time, can create a moment of magic. Everything fell into place for Villa on that day and they took their opportunities.

“It was also a resilient performance. It would have been easy for them to start to fall away from what they were doing well once Man City got them back in the game, so that’s a credit to them as a group."

Paul Konchesky wants West Ham to take the game to Manchester United in his second match as a WSL manager.

“We know they have got a strong team,” the former England defender said.

“Being at home, we will make it as hard as it as it can be for them - we won't give anyone an easy game. My team will play on the front foot and we will make it hard to beat us. We know they are an attacking team. But there is always a weakness when you've got a very attacking team, and hopefully, we can exploit that weakness."

Konchesky also discussed the development of his squad.

“I think everyone knows what West Ham is about," he said. "We do go and buy players. But we also try and get some best young ones that we possibly can from our local area. We have had a few young players in the squad this year. So we're going to be a mixture - and that's what West Ham is about."

  9. 'Results last week were a warning to everybody'published at 14:53 British Summer Time 25 September 2022

Manchester United have aspirations of upsetting the established cartel this season and breaking into the top three and earning a Champions League spot for the first time.

Their season got off to the perfect start with a 4-0 over Reading at Leigh Sports Village last weekend and they have been challenged to back up the win.

“We have to put back-to-back performances on again and continue to do that," said Man Utd boss Marc Skinner.

"If we’re serious about what we want to achieve this year, our players have to be in a mode where we go into West Ham – difficult environment to go into, they’ve just won there so it’s going to be a difficult game – [and] we have to show our qualities and find ways of winning that game too.

"I know how difficult it’s going to be, and we say this every week but I think it shows… when you look at the Chelsea result and the Manchester City result last week, nobody would expect that. It was a warning to everybody in the league that at any time, anybody can win in this league."

    Brighton 1-0 Reading

    Chris Slegg
    BBC Radio Sussex

The goal was a daisy clutter of a shot from the Korean international. From a moment, I just wondered if it was going to be curled wide and she just about got it right.

A really neat finish from Lee Geum-Min which gives the Seagulls the lead in front of what is perhaps a record crowd at the Amex Stadium.

    Brighton 1-0 Reading

Brighton have definitely been the better team. Reading are starting to look like a side that hasn't won for over six months.

Katie Robinson, who came into the side today, jinks past the defender to create a shooting opportunity but it is straight into the hands of Grace Moloney.

    Lee Geum-Min

    The breakthrough!

Grace Moloney will not want to see this again in the Reading goal.

Jorja Fox, who is on loan from Chelsea, sends a cross into the box, but it ends up getting a nick off the defender.

Moloney comes out to gather, but can't collect cleanly, and the ball falls for Lee Geum-Min, who drags into the empty net.

I was just typing that Brighton had created the better chances, so it's hard to argue that don't deserve it.
