Frankly embarrassing that a club finishing in top 2 of PL and in 3 of the last 5 CL finals is looking at bargain basement loan deals. What are the owners of LFC doing?

Manchester United
Sam Peoples, United Peoples TV, external:
I've always maintained that we'd be happy as Manchester United fans come the end of the transfer window and, for once, I have been proven correct.
It's been painful to follow as a fan throughout the summer with the Frenkie de Jong and Cristiano Ronaldo situations casting a shadow over the club but we've come out the other side of it smiling.
If you told any United fan before the summer window started that we'd sign Antony, Casemiro, Lisandro Martinez, Christian Eriksen and Tyrell Malacia, they'd all have laughed in your face...but here we are.
It was a far-from-perfect summer transfer window and we've overpaid for players because of how poorly run we are as an operation but we've properly backed Erik ten Hag, allowed him to dictate the profiles of the signings and without a scouting department we've trusted his judgement.
Looking at how quickly Martinez, Malacia and Eriksen have settled, the signs are good so far.
No doubt more could have been done this summer but in his first summer Ten Hag has been able to properly build the foundations of his new look United squad.
Now, we've got to build on that.
Fulham
TalkSPORT are reporting that Fulham have made a late offer for Leeds winger Dan James.
The 24-year-old made the switch to Elland Road from Manchester United in 2021 but could be on the move again.
Leeds United
Sky Sports news are also reporting that Leeds have agreed a deal in excess of £10 million with Marseille for striker Bamba Dieng.
Guillem Balague gave his latest on Liverpool's pursuit of Arthur Melo before catching a flight.
And no, he's not flying somewhere for a medical!

Olly Monk: £25m is a steal for a player like Tielemans. Why are MUFC still trying to chase De Jong, external when you have a proven Premier League midfielder at a bargain price?
Didn't see this coming.
Barcelona are reportedly close to signing Arsenal full-back Hector Bellerin. He spent last season on loan at Real Betis.

Manchester United midfielder Tahith Chong is likely to join Championship outfit Birmingham before the deadline closes.
The 22-year-old spent last term on loan with the Blues.
Although he went on United’s summer tour of Thailand and Australia, he has been told he can leave if a suitable offer came in.
It is understood Birmingham are still keen on the Dutch Under-21 international, with the expectation he will join the St Andrews outfit later today.
Liverpool
Where are we up to on Liverpool's pursuit of Juventus midfielder Arthur Melo?
The club are looking to sign Arthur on loan before the transfer window closes.
There is still work to be done to complete the deal but bringing in the 26-year-old Brazil international would ease the club's injury problems in midfield.
Reports suggest he has flown over to undergo a medical and a contract has been drawn up for him to sign.

Something is up with the recruitment in Arsenal's midfield... do they hesitate over Tielemans because he doesn't fit the plan or complications in dealing with Leicester? Not sure if Douglas Luiz is the answer to the injury crisis, seems like Edu finds it hard to think of non-Brazilian players!

The 19-year-old was a regular for Posh last season in the Championship as the team were relegated. He has been playing senior football since 2020-21 and has started six games so far this season.
