  1. Wolves looking for new arrivalspublished at 12:09 British Summer Time 1 September 2022

    Simon Stone
    BBC Sport reporter

Confirmation that Wolves are willing to sell Leander Dendoncker, plus Willy Boly's impending exit for Nottingham Forest means there are two spare slots on Bruno Lage's squad.

Ideally, he would fill both. He may not get anyone.

Might be a late one at Molineux.

Given his name isn't being mentioned anywhere, do we take it that Leicester are happy for Tielemans to run down his contract and leave on a free?

  3. No movement on Billy Gilmourpublished at 12:05 British Summer Time 1 September 2022

    Simon Stone
    BBC Sport

I am told there has been no movement in Brighton's pursuit of Billy Gilmour.

Graham Potter is keen on the Scotland midfielder but the deal would have to be a permanent one because Brighton already have one Chelsea player - Levi Colwill - on loan and Premier League clubs can't have two from the same club.

Chelsea extended Gilmour's contract in the summer, so it still has two years to run.

If Arsenal are looking at Douglas Luiz for a rumoured £20m and Youri Tielemans is valued at £30m, surely the more played and better returning player is a no brainer for an extra £10m.

  10. Will Dendoncker head to Villa?published at 11:40 British Summer Time 1 September 2022

BBC Sport chief football writer Phil McNulty reports Aston Villa are in talks with Wolves over a deal for midfielder Leander Dendoncker - who is also attracting interest from West Ham.

He says the 27-year-old is surplus to requirements at Molineux and Villa manager Steven Gerrard is keen to strengthen his squad after a poor start to the season.

West Ham are also admirers while Everton have also been linked with Dendoncker.

Villa are pursuing a move but it is not understood to be close to completion as yet.

Meanwhile, the Athletic's David Ornstein says there has been a development in Villa's interest with a bid being accepted by Wolves.

If I was Ralph....I'd happily swap Bednarek for Dawson. He'd be a great back up and ideal mentor for Bella-Kotchap and Salisu. I couldn't ever see us landing a player like Gakpo and Maitland Niles fills a gap in the squad but doesn't excite me.

    Phil McNulty
    BBC Sport chief football writer

Aston Villa have no intention of selling Brazilian midfield man Douglas Luiz amid reports of deadline day interest from Arsenal.

The 24-year-old, who scored direct from a corner in the 2-1 defeat at Arsenal on Wednesday, is fully expected to remain at Villa Park as part of manager Steven Gerrard’s plans.

Villa’s stance is that he will not be sold and they have yet to receive any bids.

More from Luke Edwards, this time discussing Chelsea: "I'll use that word again, bonkers. They've got new owners, they've spent a lot of money. I'm a bit worried. One of the showbiz names, Neymar, has popped up. We've got [Pierre-Emerick] Aubameyang with his broken jaw after his attack in Barcelona this week. They are desperate for a striker, after spending most of their money on defenders."

Sami Mokbel, the Chief Football reporter at the Daily Mail, says Aston Villa have offered £10 million to Wolves for midfielder Leander Dendoncker.

Would that open the door for Douglas Luiz to leave? He's been heavily linked to Arsenal.
