It was a brilliant bit of play from Emerson Royal. He decided when the ball came to him that he really fancied it. He just dropped his shoulder to get half a yard and put in a wicked delivery. He will be asking why one of the front three did not get on the end of it.

Ben Davies is down and needing some treatment. He doesn't look to be in too much pain. Looks like he just got caught on his knee during a coming together with two other players.

Oof, that's a really good cross from Emerson Royal. He gets to the byline and whips a delivery that flies right across the face of goal.

Soon after, the defender is looking to score himself from a long throw, but can't get enough power on an acrobatic effort.

Richarlison will be a little disappointed with that one. It was a beautiful cross in to the back post but the ball just seemed to flash down his face and it was an easy save for the goalkeeper.

Now we're seeing some action.

Ex-Wolves winger Trincao turns one way and then the other, before dragging an effort from outside the box just wide of the post.

A little opening for Richarlison allows him to get a shot away from range, but it is blocked before it can cause home keeper Antonio Adan any bother.

The Brazilian does test the keeper soon after, rising to meet an Ivan Perisic cross but heading it into the ground and at Adan.

Marcus Edwards again shows his speed of thought and feet, turning sharply to get away from two Spurs men on halfway before he slips.

We've not had a proper attempt at goal for over 15 minutes. The last being the Pote shot tipped past the post by Hugo Lloris.

I was just about to write that Sporting are very neat and tidy in possession and then Goncalo Inacio allows the ball to go out of play with some sloppy control.

This feels very much like a game between two sides wary of the speed and attacking threat of their opponent.

The Sporting defence are playing tight on the Tottenham front three so runs from deep will be key to getting in behind the home side's defence.

Marcus Edwards is heavily involved. He's operating as false nine, linking up play to get the home side a foothold in the Spurs half.

Sporting dig in deep when out of possession. They don't want any balls played in behind their defence. Spurs try to chip one over the top from deep, but they hit it heavy and it floats out of play.

Here is the home side again down the left.

Nuno Santos gets into a decent position, but his low ball is blocked before Emerson Royal is caught for a free-kick that relieves the pressure.

Sporting offering Spurs a bit to think about here. When they spy the chance to get forward, they do so at pace.

Ben Davies gets forward from left centre-back but is caught offside just as he thinks he has done enough to win a corner.
