    Quote Message

It was a good finish from Mudryk, but I think Joe Hart went down early. If he stands up a second longer then he saves it, because it's straight down the middle of the goals

I think Celtic will welcome the break. Ange will weigh things up in terms of possibly changing things. It's a tough system they play in. Changes will undoubtedly be made. It just depends if that starts at half-time or not

  4. HALF-TIME: Shakhtar Donetsk 1-1 Celticpublished at 18:32 British Summer Time 14 September 2022

    Scott Mullen
BBC Scotland at the Stadion Wojska Polskiego

After a whirlwind first 20 minutes, Celtic could be forgiven for thinking they were well on their way to a commanding win here in Warsaw.

Instead, they're arguably fortunate to be going in level in the face of a resurgent Donetsk side.

It was counter attack upon counter attack and that allowed Rio Hatate to carve out a deserved early lead for Celtic. For the next spell, the Glasgow team were relentless in the pursuit of a second.

Yet, while a cliche, the old phrase "goals change games" is quite appropriate.

Mykhaylo Mudryk turned this game on its head with a terrific run and shot, while the Ukrainians would soon have a second disallowed as Mudryk strayed offside before a cute cut back.

Can this pace keep up in the second half? Let's hope so.

That Mykhaylo Mudryk equaliser means Celtic have now only kept one clean sheet in their latest 34 away Champions League games - a 3-0 win over Anderlecht in the 2017-18 season.

  9. GOOD SAVE!published at 18:25 British Summer Time 14 September 2022

    Shakhtar Donetsk 1-1 Celtic

Marian Shved looks determined to score against his former side and the winger's curling drive from the edge of the penalty box forces a good one-handed save from goalkeeper Joe Hart.

From the corner, a flick off the head of home defender Yukhym Konoplya takes it looping just over the crossbar.

  12. DISALLOWED GOALpublished at 32mins

    Shakhtar Donetsk 1-1 Celtic

It looks like Shakhtar have a quickfire second, with Marian Shved celebrating what he believes is a goal against his former club.

However, after the striker fired past goalkeeper Joe Hart at the second attempt, the officials rightly ruled that goalscorer Mykhaylo Mudryk had cut the ball back after it had crossed the goal line.

He showed his quality didn't he, Mudryk. As soon as that ball is in behind Juranovic, his pace is clear. It's a quality finish to lift it over Joe Hart into the back of the net

  17. 'Shakhtar back four badly exposed'published at 18:09 British Summer Time 14 September 2022

    Shakhtar Donetsk 0-1 Celtic

    Scott Mullen
BBC Scotland at the Stadion Wojska Polskiego

Ever tried countering a counter attack? Celtic are giving it a good go here.

Shakhtar's game plan against RB Leipzig last week and here tonight is based on absorbing pressure and bombing forward. However, their sitting back four are being badly exposed as Celtic flood forward when they get the ball back.

Will be amazed if this game stays 1-0.

You have to be mindful that this Shakhtar team put four past Leipzig just last week. You look at the likes of Zubkov and Shved - there's real danger in their forward line

  19. Postpublished at 19mins

Another sight at goal for Celtic, but winger Sead Haksabanovic's shot is easily dealt with by goalkeeper Anatoliy Trubin at his near post.
