Ajax are really quick to hunt down Liverpool players when they lose possession and that draws roars of approval from the vocal home fans.

The bounce just in front of Paulinho did for him. Ben Davies has got to do better to stop the cross. If he gets that on target, it's 1-0 to Sporting. Another warning shot from Sporting.

This is a good chance for Sporting as Pedro Porro whips in a lovely right-wing cross which Paulinho turns over the bar with a close-range finish from eight yards.

Napoli are cruising as Giovanni Simeone heads in his and the Italians' second of the game with 19 minutes gone.

Good opening here at Spurs with a couple of opportunities for Antonio Conte's side but Sporting Lisbon have produced a couple of very slick breaks so they have already flagged up their threat.

Ajax are having another decent little spell and Alisson has to make a save as he grasps Jorge Sanchez's well-struck shot out of the air. A good shot but a little too close to the Liverpool goalkeeper.

As things stand the group looks like this...

3. Eintracht Frankfurt - 7pts
4. Marseille - 6pts

So, pretty close.

A win for Napoli in their game against Rangers and Liverpool failing to win tonight will mean the Italians take top spot. They are currently leading 1-0 thanks to Giovanni Simeone's strike.

La Liga TV's Semra Hunter has been speaking to Sport today about what Champions League elimination means for Barcelona: "It doesn't look good. It is certainly a bruise to heir ego and their pride as a club. There has been so much pressure on them because of the financial pressure to deliver on the pitch and generate as much money possible for the club. It will be a really big blow for them not to get out of the group stage because they will have budgeted for making the quarterfinals.

"They will have to come up with other solutions, such as in the January transfer window looking to offload higher earners. It is certainly not an ideal situation for them to find themselves in and it will put a lot of extra strain on them going forward.

"They still have possibilities to win silverware. The cup is definitely attainable and they could still win the league of course. And the Europa League, why not? Yes it is a blow to their confidence in the short run but by the time we return from the World Cup it will be an entirely different situation.

"Xavi has come under criticism but that has subsided in the last few games and for now those criticisms have been silenced - but one bad result and they will come back."
