  1. Good nightpublished at 22:42 British Summer Time 19 October 2022

That's all for tonight folks. There are four teams left standing in the League Cup, with Celtic taking on Kilmarnock and Rangers meeting Aberdeen in mid-January.

There's a lot of football to be played before then, starting with Scotland's first match featuring VAR when Hibs welcome St Johnstone to Easter Road on Friday evening.

Join us again for that one followed by another busy weekend.

  2. 'We didn't circulate the ball quickly enough'published at 22:37 British Summer Time 19 October 2022

    FT: Rangers 1-0 Dundee

Speaking to Premier Sports, Rangers manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst said: "We were not convincing. We started okay, dominated the first-half, they didn't have any chances and we were looking for goal but our last pass in the final third wasn't accurate enough to get a second goal.

"We dropped and couldn't create any big chances and lost the ball too many times. Dundee were in the game second half, so I wasn't happy with the performance.

"We didn't reach our wingers quickly enough, we were waiting instead of taking the opportunity to make chances. We didn't circulate the ball quickly enough. The performance in the last half hour could and should have been better.

"We have a big squad. We rotated today. Ridvan had a decent game. It's not easy for him to settle in, he's doing really well the last couple of weeks. First-half, we were strong in defence. Overall, we need to keep improving. We're through to the semi-final but we cannot be happy with the performance. That's what I told the players."

  3. 'My remit is to get to Hampden' - Goodwinpublished at 22:35 British Summer Time 19 October 2022

    FT: Aberdeen 4-1 Partick Thistle

Aberdeen manager Jim Goodwin on Sportsound: "Obviously the objective for these cup competitions is to make sure you're in the hat, and we've done that. First half I thought we were excellent against a very good Partick Thistle team - we had to be at our best.

"The remit was to get to Hampden. The board and the supporters demand that. My remit is to win silverware. I prefer to be positive because I want my players to hear the right message. We have to believe we're capable of going all they way. Otherwise what's the point?

"We've had some tricky ties, so I'm really proud of the players."

Aberdeen are performing at a high level just now. They've certainly got a lot of players who can find the back of the net and that will give Jim Goodwin hope that he can get to a final in his first season

"Tasty ties to look forward," is the semi-final verdict of former Rangers and Dundee midfielder Kevin Thomson on Premier Sports. Shivering in the cold at a now empty Ibrox, he adds: "Hopefully they are better than the game tonight."

  11. 'Rangers take long route to semi-finals'published at 22:11 British Summer Time 19 October 2022

    FT: Rangers 1-0 Dundee

    Martin Dowden
    BBC Sport Scotland at Ibrox

Rangers got there in the end but seemed to take a bit of long road to reaching the result. The supporters that braved the bracing cold will be unlikely to be overly impressed and those that remained showed that at the end with a chorus of boos.

Giovanni van Bronkhurst's side were comfortably in charge but the longer the game went on the more Rangers seemed to retreat and play within themselves. Their confidence just doesn't seem to be at the level you would expect.

They are in the semi-finals now though and that's all that matters.

Dundee can take considerable credit. They hung in there and caused one or two nervous moments in the latter stages.

  12. FULL-TIME Rangers 1-0 Dundeepublished at 22:05 British Summer Time 19 October 2022

Rangers get the job done although it wasn't very pretty.

The Ibrox side dominated the first half and looked certain to build on an early goal from Steven Davis but Dundee had other ideas, digging in belligerently and giving the home fans a couple of scares towards the end.

Rangers started to huff and puff the longer it went on but it's all about getting through to the next round.

  18. 'Do Dundee dare to dream?'published at 21:55 British Summer Time 19 October 2022

    Rangers 1-0 Dundee

    Martin Dowden
    BBC Sport Scotland at Ibrox

Dundee have refused to budge and are showing small signs of encouragement to their manager Gary Bowyer.

They've made a number of changes to mitigate the impact of the running they've had to do and are trying to get up the pitch.

Rangers just haven't been convincing in the final third. They built the platform to make this comfortable but anxiety is just starting to show within the home support.

    This isn't quite over.

Dundee will feel well in it. They can be adventurous late on. They're right in the game and it's given them confidence. Rangers are making changes to get that bit of freshness as they try to kill the game.
