Quote MessageGary Bowyer is someone I have a lot of time for. A great football man and a very, very nice man, which is more important. He works very hard, he loves bringing young players through which he's doing here at Dundee. Equally, he's a winner.

It looks like damage limitation for Thistle now after the Dons swept away Ian McCall's side with a first-half blitz.
Aberdeen have been absolutely ruthless, although they have been aided by a couple of deflections for the second and third goals that gave Jamie Sneddon no chance.
Luis Lopes has been terrific again, ably helped by both Hayden Coulson and Leighton Clarkson who have been involved in much of the Dons' attacks.

Tavernier has a follow-up chance but his strike is comfortably dealt with by Legzdins.
A walk in the park so far for Aberdeen against the Championship leaders.
Luis Lopes opened the scoring with a deft finish after Haydon Coulson played him in. Coulson then saw a shot deflect off Kevin Holt on its way into the back of the net, before the Dons wing-back got on the scoresheet himself with another deflected effort.
The hosts have been mightily impressive in the opening 45 minutes and are well on their way to the semi-finals.

Rangers have been at it from the off and are streets ahead of their Championship opponents thus far.
There seems to be a determination to keep the tempo tip-top and run Dundee ragged. It's working.
The visitors are having to chase and chase then chase some more. They need an outlet to relieve the waves of pressure constantly coming at them.

Quote MessageSteven Davis has been everywhere. That natural enthusiasm rubs off on others. The reason they are playing with that tempo and intensity is Davis. He's been at the core of everything.

This is turning into a nightmare for the Jags as Aberdeen turn the screw on the visitors.
All three goals have come about through errors of their own doing. However, you have to give credit to Aberdeen who from the first minute have had their foot on the pedal.
Although Duk will have his name attached to the opener, the second and third goals have both come from wicked deflections by Kevin Holt and Jack McMillan, giving goalkeeper Jamie Sneddon no chance.

Quote MessageDundee need to get a foothold in the game, to give Rangers a little fright. Otherwise, it will continue all one way. They've looked dangerous from long throws, but they need to do better in open play.

Quote MessageAlmost every Dundee player is in their own penalty box but they give it away and Rangers punish them
Steven Davis
Scott Wright wins the ball in the box and lashes at goal. Adam Legzdins makes a good save but it comes straight to Davis, who nods past the keeper to put Rangers into an early lead.
Hayden Coulson
Hayden Coulson had a hand in the first two goals, and now finds the back of the net himself.
