    Brighton 0-1 Chelsea

What a chance for Brighton! A lovely ball over the top from Geum Min Lee and Katie Robinson is clean through.

The ball gets stuck under her feet a little as she gets into the box, allowing the defender back in but she is still able to advance on Ann-Katrin Berger and squeeze a shot past the goalkeeper.

It rolls agonisingly across the goal and Veatriki Sarri just can't get there to put the ball into the empty net.

  2. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 72 mins

    Brighton 0-1 Chelsea

Not a bad couple of players to bring on in a tight game - or any game, really. Sam Kerr and Pernille Harder replace Beth England and Lauren James.

Seconds later, Kerr nearly gets on the end of a dangerous cross. That would have been some introduction.

  3. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 71 mins

    Brighton 0-1 Chelsea

The home side look to the bench for the first time and bring on Danielle Carter for Elisabeth Terland.

    Brighton 0-1 Chelsea

Brighton are not going away here. Geum Min Lee collects the ball under pressure midway inside the Chelsea half, spins and picks out Katie Robinson on the right.

The winger jinks into the box and sees her shot deflected past the post. Goal kick given and Robinson can't believe it.

  5. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 67 mins

    Brighton 0-1 Chelsea

A first change for Chelsea and Niamh Charles, who may still believe she's scored the only goal of this game, heads off with Guro Reiten coming on.

Jess Carter also makes way with Magdalena Eriksson replacing her.

  6. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 63 mins

    Brighton 0-1 Chelsea

This game has exploded into life in this second half and Chelsea are the width of the crossbar away from doubling their lead.

Another good move, Johanna Rytting Kaneryd moves across the box and is desperate to pull the trigger. However, she sees that her path is blocked, wisely lays it off to Eve Perisset and the shot from the edge of the box cannons back off the bar!

  7. GREAT SAVE!published at 60 mins

    Brighton 0-1 Chelsea

How are Brighton not level!? It's another corner, there's a mad scramble and the ball then drops to Elisabeth Terland, her shot on the turn looks destined for the net but Ann-Katrin Berger gets down brilliantly to her right and pushes it away!

    Brighton 0-1 Chelsea

There are one or two thigh slaps of frustration in the home end, echoing the annoyance shown over that goal by Katie Robinson, who could only watch from afar as the net rippled.

Chelsea finally go ahead on a night when it looked increasingly like they could come away from Crawley without a goal again - and those away fans react with suitable ebullience.

The goal has come and it's gone Chelsea's way!

A corner was floated towards the back post, Niamh Charles - for the third time tonight - gets her head on it. The header loops towards goal, a desperate attempt to clear it the line she the ball come back off the bar.

Did it cross the line? It doesn't matter because Beth England is there to ram it over the line. It's been given to the striker for the time being.

    Brighton 0-0 Chelsea

    Samantha Miller
Ex-Tottenham and West Ham player on BBC Radio 5 sports extra

Brighton aren't a team that are known to be clinical in the box.

They usually get goals from set pieces rather than open play. They will look to players on the bench to create chances.

At the moment, it looks like either team could get on the score sheet.

It's Brighton's turn to threaten now. Once again it's Katie Robinson causing Chelsea problems.

She cuts the ball back from the corner of the area and Elisabeth Terland sees her shot blocked.

There is definitely a goal coming but at which, who knows!?

Those chants of "seagulls" grow louder again after Katie Robinson rampages down the right and Victoria Williams thwarts Chelsea bravely again soon afterwards.

Winger Robinson has been electric at times tonight and has given Jess Carter a testing time. With more incision, Brighton could have had a goal.

It's all going on. Brighton look like they're in at one end, the shot from Katie Robinson is blocked after she fails to get it out of her feet.

Chelsea then come forward and Beth England looks certain to score after being picked out 10 yards form goals. She strikes the shot well but Victoria Williams makes a crucial block.

    It's breathless stuff right now!

    Brighton 0-0 Chelsea

It's end to end stuff. Chelsea pour forward now and Lauren James cuts in form the left, looks set to shoot but then slips at the vital moment.

Chelsea retain possession, though, and go down the right forward Brighton scramble the ball clear.

More promising signs for Brighton as Kayleigh Green and Katie Robinson combine down the right.

The ball is played into the path of Veatriki Sarri but is blocked almost the moment it leaves her foot.

A slip from Eve Perisset gives Brighton a chance to get at Chelsea. However, the cross from the left is straight into the arms of Ann-Katrin Berger.

  18. DISALLOWED GOALpublished at 47 mins

    Brighton 0-0 Chelsea

Chelsea are quickly on the attack at the start of the second half and Beth England has the ball in the back of the net.

England had started the move with some good hold up play and a ball out to Niamh Charles on the left.

Charles cut inside and slid the ball into the path of Jessie Fleming, whose shot was kept out by Megan Walsh.

England turned in the rebound but was standing right in front of the keeper as the shot came in. Even if the initial shot had gone in, I think that would have been given offside.

    HT: Brighton 0-0 Chelsea

Bad news from Crawley. The rain has returned and given the state of the pitch in the first half, I'm not sure how much more it can stand.

For now, the game is going ahead. Both sides are back out and we can only hope the playing surface remains in a state that pleases the referee.
