In case you're wondering just how influential Chelsea's Fran Kirby was against her former club this is her first-half touchmap.

She had more touches (41) than any single Reading player, with only her team-mate Niamh Charles touching the ball ball.

Reading have actually played some decent stuff at times and been pretty bold with their approach but the goals they've shipped in that first half were dreadful.

Players were not facing the play for the offside goal which got Chelsea going and they must have had at least three chances to clear their lines for the second.

Fran Kirby and company will be looking to fill their boots in the second half.

Chelsea have stopped the opposition from scoring a first-half goal in eight of their 10 games, only Manchester United (nine) have done this more often in the English Women's Super League this season.

Lily Woodham does well to read a sweeping cross-field pass but is sent tumbling to the ground by Johanna Rytting Kaneryd. Free-kick all day long and that should probably be that for this half.

Solid save. Another Chelsea attack sees Niamh Charles try her luck from 20 yards but the Reading keeper Jacqueline Burns is right behind that one.

Chelsea are running through the gears now as they look to add to their goal difference at the top of the WSL. Erin Cuthbert fizzes one just over the bar.

The 16 first-half goals Reading have shipped in their last 10 games is more than any other team in the WSL this season.

This is also the ninth of their most recent 11 away games in which they have let in more than one and a division-leading ninth time when they have conceded from a cross. Ouch.

Brilliant goal. When you watch the way that Chelsea go forward, the movement and rotation that they have is practised again and again on the training field.

When the ball goes in to Fran Kirby, you know the quality she has - you know she's going to find a player. Again, there's the overlap and Cankovic has a real well-timed run into the box and a glancing header. She's been excellent!

A real stinger, that one.

Reading appear most vulnerable every time they attack. Would it be worth just sticking some players behind the ball for 10 minutes to try and disrupt Chelsea's flow?

Not great from Ann-Katrin Berger. Chelsea's German goalkeeper is forced into a rushed clearance after trying to play out through the Reading press.

The visitors are really intent on having a go at the hosts at every opportunity.

Reading aren't just sitting back after that setback. Sanne Troelsgaard Nielsen and Emma Harries combine down the right and force Chelsea's Millie Bright into a tricky near-post clearance.

She's [Johanna Rytting Kaneryd] clearly offside but Chelsea do it quickly and Fran Kirby is not going to miss from there.

It's good play initially but Reading will be disappointed. If you get a free-kick you have to face the ball. You've got to be ready because Chelsea are going to be quick at that.

Opening goalscorer Fran Kirby has now been directly involved in 11 goals in eight appearances against Reading in the WSL, scoring eight times and providing three assists.
