GOAL - Aston Villa 1-3 Arsenalpublished at 62 mins

    Katie McCabe

    Game over?

Lia Walti does well to hold off the press from Rachel Daly and she slots Steph Catley in down the left.

Her cross is diverted back into the penalty area by the outstretched leg of Villa keeper Hannah Hampton and Katie McCabe is there to slot into the empty net.

Villa had been pressing for an equaliser but they are now two down. Ruthless from Arsenal.

  2. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 60 mins

    Aston Villa 1-2 Arsenal

This gives you an indication of how the game is going.

Arsenal are going to make a change at the back with Rafaelle replaced by Gunners and England captain Leah Williamson.

Both are being managed on their return from injury, but the fact Jonas Eidevall has called for Williamson is a nod of respect to Villa.

    Aston Villa 1-2 Arsenal

This is much better from Villa.

A cross into the box is headed on by an Arsenal defender, but only to Alisha Lehmann at the back post.

She could take on the volley, but she cleverly nods down for Kenza Dali, but her effort is held by Manuela Zinsberger.

Lehmann is OK to continue after some treatment. It may have been an impact injury rather than anything more serious.

She's straight into the action too. She picks up a really clever position in between the Arsenal defence and midfielder, but her effort is comfortable for Manuela Zinsberger.

    Aston Villa 1-2 Arsenal

The last thing Aston Villa need is another injury. They've only been able to name four subs today.

Alisha Lehmann is down, and struggling with her left knee by the looks of it. She's going to need some treatment.

    Aston Villa 1-2 Arsenal

Arsenal are starting to gain control again, but their build-up is very patient at the moment.

Their latest attack ends with Katie McCabe trying an effort from range but it was an easy save for Hannah Hampton.

    Aston Villa 1-2 Arsenal

It has just been comfortable Arsenal possession at the start of the second half.

They play holders Lyon in the Champions League on Thursday.

They just need a point to secure their progress and top spot.

At what score in this game will Jonas Eidevall's attention switch to that game?

    Aston Villa 1-2 Arsenal

Villa get the second half under way.

Look away now if you're a Villa fan, though.

Since October 2019, when Arsenal have been ahead at half-time in the WSL, they are 37/37. It doesn't get better than that.

When Vivianne Miedema is on the ball she thinks about the type of pass that she would like to receive. She is a super-intelligent player when she drops in and you know that she is not going to waste a ball.

We saw some of the very best of Vivianne Miedema in that first half.

Her goal is superb. She was initially part of the pack in the six-yard box, but she shows the awareness to pull off Rachel Daly, ready for the second ball. That comes from Hannah Hampton's punch and she volleys home.

She also played that gorgeous pass through to Stina Blackstenius too.

    What a player.

  12. 'We could have pushed on to win'published at 17:16 Greenwich Mean Time 11 December 2022

FT: Man City 1-1 Man Utd

Manchester United forward Leah Galton: "Honestly, I'm a little bit gutted. We'll take the point - City are a great team and it was a great game but I do feel like we could have pushed on to win.

"I enjoyed the game a lot. It's funny because I was speaking to someone before the game and I just zone out and don't really realise there are that many people [in the stadium]. Someone scores a goal and it erupts, so it's a nice feeling.

"We couldn't really have asked for a better start in the league and going into the Christmas break [in good form] is great for us. We just have to continue it after Christmas."

  13. 'This team is not going to subside'published at 17:14 Greenwich Mean Time 11 December 2022

FT: Man City 1-1 Man Utd

United manager Skinner on whether a gap remains between his side and City: "I don't think so. Our aim is to try to do it the other way, where there's a gap between us and them in our favour. They've got a lot of history on their side and have done excellently but we have to make sure that we rise to the occasion.

"This team is not going to stop. We're not going to subside at any point. We're going to keep building, keep driving and keep expecting. We're going to work hard for what we achieve and today is a sign of a team that is changing its mentality in every one of these games.

"[The work] doesn't stop. I hope everybody has happy holidays and a happy Christmas but I'm not going to stop. I'm going to keep working with these players to build a team that can show our fans just how much we love their support."

FT: Man City 1-1 Man Utd

More from Manchester City manager Gareth Taylor: "You can see we've some good players here and some good players to come from the sidelines as well. Our availability is a lot higher than it was last season.

"It takes time. We're building things here and we've got some really good young players and some good experience to help with that. I've always said the future looks promising."

  16. 'Mentality change for Manchester United'published at 17:09 Greenwich Mean Time 11 December 2022

FT: Man City 1-1 Man Utd

Manchester United manager Marc Skinner: "We've got a different mentality now. We're disappointed not to win. I suppose when you reflect, we'll take the point. We're just disappointed at the end because of the way we conceded the goal, which is not like us and something we'll keep addressing.

"We're not making defensive changes. We're coming here and we want to win the game. We're making attacking changes; we created some great chances in the second half. Barring the ball hitting Ellie [Roebuck] and not knowing where it's gone, that should be a goal.

"It's just a mentality change for Manchester United. We're showing now that we're not happy to just come and compete in these moments. We want to win these games."

  17. 'It could be an important point'published at 17:07 Greenwich Mean Time 11 December 2022

FT: Man City 1-1 Man Utd

Manchester City manager Gareth Taylor on whether his side had the chances to win: "Yes. It was a bit like basketball at the end. A draw was a fair reflection.

"They were probably a little bit on top in the first half, more than we wanted them to be. I certainly thought that the way we played in the second half was much better.

"There are still areas that we need to control but it's quite an emotional game today, playing out here in a different environment for us. Trying to control that and managing the game is difficult but I was proud of the girls in the second half.

"We could have won it, we could have lost it. A draw was probably a fair one. Both keepers made top saves when it mattered. We looked like we were in the ascendancy in the second half and could have been the ones to do it but it could be an important point further down the line for us."

  18. Man City held by Man Utd in thrilling derbypublished at 17:06 Greenwich Mean Time 11 December 2022

Here are the highlights from that Manchester derby.

    There are plenty too.

The second half, in particular, was a really absorbing end-to-end contest.

  19. HALF-TIMEpublished at 17:03 Greenwich Mean Time 11 December 2022

    Aston Villa 1-2 Arsenal

    They do. Just!

Vivianne Miedema strides forward and many would expect her to just pull the trigger, but she threads in Katie McCabe and her cross is headed away.

Villa, who took the lead, go in a goal down at the break.
