Back to the football, Pep Guardiola is talking to the media about Sunday's trip to Anfield - which the Manchester City manager describes as "always difficult".

He says his opinion about Liverpool has not been changed by their position in the table and believes they remain their "biggest challengers for the title".

Liverpool are currently 10th in the table, 14 points behind leaders Arsenal.

Liverpool

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has pointed to a tendency to conceded the first goal in games as a "concern".

Analysis by Nielsen Gracenote shows the Reds have conceded first in six of their eight matches this season. That means in every match in which Liverpool have conceded a goal at all, the opposition have scored first.

Last season, Klopp's side went behind in all of their last four fixtures of and in five of their last eight.

Last term, Liverpool fought back to claim 14 points out of 18 in the last six matches they went behind in. This season, the Reds have only managed to come back to claim six points.

Gracenote's analysis also claims Liverpool are only making 1.5 big chances per game this season compared to 3.75 in 2021-22.

We've heard from Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp already this morning, previewing the big Premier League clash with Manchester City on Sunday.

Final thoughts from David Moyes, with more detail on Jarrod Bowen's potential: "If you think of the best wingers over the years - Ronaldo and Messi - nearly all of them became centre-forwards and goalscorers and maybe you can see that in Jarrod too as his career is going on.

"If you look at his goalscoring record over the years it has been pretty good, and it’s been that way consistently for us too.”

On his World Cup chances: "He is a really good boy to work with. He wants to listen and watch his clips back and watch his runs. He wants to see where he can improve. He is a really diligent boy at trying to improve his game.

We have got a bit of something going again. I am still looking for improvements. There is room for that to get better. Winning is the most important thing.

On qualifying for the knockout stages of the Europa Conference League: "Really pleased. We have played as many games as anyone in Europe over the last two years. We would have liked to have got to the final [of the Europa League last season]. We will do everything we can to have a really good go in the Conference League."
