    Big chance!

Arsenal take a short corner and Martin Odegaard runs to the edge of the box before whipping in a cross that is taken away from the well-positioned Gabriel Martinelli by a flicked header from Thomas Partey.

Surely the Brazilian would have netted had he been allowed to.

And now we're down the other end, with Edouard Mendy doing well to come out through a sea of bodies to punch well clear.

Mason Mount sends the ball in, but an Arsenal head is first to it before the boot of another Gunners player hammers the ball clear.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek is taken down by Thomas Partey. It will be a free-kick to Chelsea and one they can get into the box to test Arsenal...

To be fair to Cesar Azpilicueta he got the ball first, but his studs being up and Martinelli getting caught after is the reason for the yellow.

  6. YELLOW CARDpublished at 50 mins

    Chelsea 0-0 Arsenal

Two Chelsea corners in quick succession.

Arsenal get the ball away before Cesar Azpilicueta flies in on Gabriel Martinelli. There is contact, hence a yellow card.

    Chelsea 0-0 Arsenal

Arsenal have now stopped the opposition from scoring a first-half goal in 10 of their 13 games, only Newcastle United (12) have done this more often in the English Premier League this season.

They almost concede early in the second-half, though, with William Saliba giving the ball away in the box to Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. The striker turns but his shot deflects wide.

    Woeful corner.

Saka hits it straight at Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who heads away.

Chelsea think they have got in Kai Havertz on the break, but play is rightly dragged back for handball against the German.

Martin Odegaard whips in the free-kick and Thiago Silva is there to head behind. More defending for Chelsea to do.

  13. Team news - Walcott makes rare startpublished at 13:00 Greenwich Mean Time 6 November 2022

    Southampton v Newcastle (14:00 GMT)

Theo Walcott returns to the Southampton side, making his first Premier League start since Boxing Day last year.

The former England forward replaces Joe Aribo in attack as Saints boss Ralph Hasenhuttl looks to cure his side's troubles in front of goal.

Walcott's is one of four changes from last weekend's defeat at Crystal Palace.

Defenders Armel Bella-Kotchap and Juan Larios are also recalled, while Ainsley Maitland-Niles is handed a start after impressing as a substitute at Palace.

Saints XI: Bazunu, Perraud, Bella-Kotchap, Salisu, Larios, Elyounoussi, Ward-Prowse, Maitland-Niles, S Armstrong, Walcott, Adams.

In-form striker Callum Wilson is well enough to start for Newcastle after saying he had been under the weather this week.

Only one change has been made by Eddie Howe from last week's 4-0 win over Aston Villa - and that is an enforced one.

Joelinton is suspended after picking up five bookings, meaning Jacob Murphy comes into the side.

Newcastle XI: Pope, Trippier, Schär, Botman, Burn, S Longstaff, Bruno Guimarães, Willock, Almirón, Wilson, Murphy.

Aston Villa v Man Utd (14:00 GMT)

Emi Martinez starts for Aston Villa despite coming off with a head injury in their last game against Newcastle.

The only change in Unai Emery's first game in charge is Jacob Ramsey coming into the first XI, replacing Ashley Young.

  16. 'I need to do my talking on the pitch' - Wilson on England credentialspublished at 12:59 Greenwich Mean Time 6 November 2022

    Southampton v Newcastle (12:00 GMT)

Callum Wilson admits he "is on a high" after firing himself into contention for England's World Cup squad with his recent form.

Wilson has three goals in his last two appearances, including a double in front of the watching Gareth Southgate against Aston Villa on Saturday, and is leaving "no stone unturned" to try to reach Qatar.

"There's only a few more games to showcase what I'm about before the squad is announced," he told the Footballer's Football podcast. "I'm giving it everything.

"Last week, lots of people were asking about England and I thought I'd spoken enough and needed to do my talking on the pitch."

Wilson's goals have helped fire free-scoring Newcastle into the top four but the 30-year-old is paying little attention to their position.

"It's still so early in the season," he said. "People get carried away. I just want us to get safe.

"It's nice to be near the top end of the league but we're still not at 40 points. Maybe when we get that, I'll start chatting."

What does Wilson think of his song at St James' Park? And why does he not do upper body weights?

The weather may be miserable but that isn't dempening the spirits of the Aston Villa and Manchester United fans.

The away supporters on the train down were in buoyant mood given United's decent run of form of late - they have not lost since 2 October and are looking for a fourth win on the bounce today.

Meanwhile, Villa fans around the ground are understandably relishing the start of a new era, with the club having appointed a coach in Unai Emery who knows how to win trophies.

They may have to be patient for a first win, however. Villa haven't beaten Manchester United at home since 1999.

  19. Sutton's predictionpublished at 12:52 Greenwich Mean Time 6 November 2022

    Southampton v Newcastle (14:00 GMT)

    Chris SuttonImage source, .

    Sutton's prediction: 0-2

I love what Eddie Howe is doing at United. They have got a really nice balance to the team, and are stingy defensively.

Howe has not just bought that improvement with the players he has signed - he is getting much more out of the United players who were already at St James' Park when he arrived 12 months ago.

United striker Callum Wilson is one of them, and I think he must go to the World Cup with England. The worry with Wilson is always his injury problems, but he is fit and absolutely flying at the moment.

Southampton are very up and down - I say that all the time, but the best example is how good they were in the second half against Arsenal recently, compared with how bad they had been before the break.

That makes it very difficult to predict what we will see from Saints week-to-week, whereas United are on such a high at the moment and they have found some consistency that is helping them get these good results.

Every time Miguel Almiron scores for United, Manchester City midfielder Jack Grealish has to eat more humble pie afterhe joked about the Paraguayanat the end of last season - and I wouldn't be surprised if Grealish is tucking into another slice on Sunday night.

    Moorhead's prediction: 1-1

    Benson's prediction:1-3
