  1. 'No complaints with the result'published at 16:34 Greenwich Mean Time 6 November 2022

FT: West Ham 1-2 Crystal Palace

    West Ham United

West Ham boss David Moyes to BBC Sport: "We didn’t play well enough. We couldn’t have expected much more [from the result]. A draw wouldn’t have been wrong but Palace played better than we did.

"We got in front when we didn’t look like it in the game but then we let Palace into the game. It was terrible. Second one we looked more likely to score.

    "No complaints with the result."

On the VAR decision which overturned a West Ham penalty: "I heard from our staff it looked soft so by all accounts VAR made the right decision."

Is he surprised by the performance? "A little bit. The players were in confident mood. We took positives from Manchester United and a good result in midweek.

"We expected to come here and continue our good run. We didn’t play well. Palace did play well at times. We shot ourselves in the foot. We should have gone in 1-0 up at half-time."

It's an early look in for Nunez, he tries to feel it into that right corner but Lloris is equal to it and keeps it out of the net.

    Tottenham 0-0 Liverpool

A chance for Liverpool in only the second minute and it falls to Darwin Nunez who strikes it with his right foot but Hugo Lloris diving to his left does excellently to keep it out.

Almost a dream start for Jurgen Klopp's men.

  5. 'The new gaffer has given us confidence'published at 16:29 Greenwich Mean Time 6 November 2022

FT: Aston Villa 3-1 Man Utd

    Aston Villa

Aston Villa's Jacob Ramsey, speaking to MOTD:

"It's been a tough couple of weeks with the old gaffer getting sacked. There has been a lot of tactical work this week and the game plan worked.

"When the new gaffer came in he said it was a clean slate. He gave us a lot of confidence and belief and I think it showed on the pitch.

"Manchester United have got top players and we knew we were going to be on the back-foot for periods."

On his goal: "Ollie [Watkins] is good at taking on players and he has put it on a plate for me."

  6. 'Too easy to score against us'published at 16:29 Greenwich Mean Time 6 November 2022

    FT: Southampton 1-4 Newcastle

    Southampton

Southampton's Romain Perraud: "I think the difference between us and Newcastle was being clinical in front of goal.

"When you don't score and concede it is difficult. Sometimes it is too easy to score against us."

  7. 'Tactically spot on'published at 16:28 Greenwich Mean Time 6 November 2022

FT: Aston Villa 3-1 Man Utd

    Clinton Morrison
Former Crystal Palace striker on BBC Radio 5 Live

Unai Emery tactically got it spot on. It's boring doing tactical stuff but there's a reason why you do it on the training pitch. Their shape was brilliant, they knew Man United were going to come in the second half so that's why they played on the counter attack and that's how Ramsey scored the third goal.

  8. 'It's only the first step'published at 16:27 Greenwich Mean Time 6 November 2022

FT: Aston Villa 3-1 Man Utd

    Aston Villa

Aston Villa boss Unai Emery talking to BBC Match of the Day:

The supporters were amazing supporting us and the players were great with the plan. First step is take confidence, start with energy and the supporters supported with their response.

We have the players with the good skills. The way we played the 90 minutes we can be optimistic but only first step and we have to work a lot to keep improving.

  9. 'Not that entertaining'published at 16:27 Greenwich Mean Time 6 November 2022

    Tottenham v Liverpool (16:30 BST)

    Alan Shearer
Former England striker on BBC Radio 5 Live

When you look at the bigger picture with Tottenham where they are that has to be a good sign.

They aren't playing that well and I know they're not that entertaining but if they're not playing that well and they are where they are top of the group and a chance to go third this evening it's not a bad position to be in is it.

  10. 'Clinical when we needed to be'published at 16:26 Greenwich Mean Time 6 November 2022

    FT: Southampton 1-4 Newcastle

    Newcastle United

Newcastle manager Eddie Howe, speaking to Sky Sports: "I'm very pleased with the result, the performance wasn't our best but I'm not going to pick it to pieces.

"It was a tough game for us, Southampton dropped into bottom three yesterday so we knew they would show a reaction.

"We were not at our best but we scored four wonderful goals.

"It feels a little flat because we didn't hit the heights which we have in other weeks, but we were clinical when we needed to be."

On England hopeful Callum Wilson coming off at half-time: "Callum wasn't that well in the week and felt light-headed and dizzy so that's why he came off.

"It was a joint decision, he didn't feel he had the energy needed and it was easy decision to replace him with Chris, who came on and got the job done.

"When you look at today's performance it was below from where have been but we still won 4-1."

  11. 'I’m devastated'published at 16:25 Greenwich Mean Time 6 November 2022

FT: West Ham 1-2 Crystal Palace

    West Ham United

West Ham captain Declan Rice: "From the way I’m feeling and the way I saw the lads, I’m devastated. That was a game we had to win. Two big games before the World Cup and you lose one of them so you’re counting on the next game.

"In the last couple of years we’d have won a game like this and been comfortable in the table.

"It’s really frustrating. I feel like we’re two different teams. We can keep the ball for fun in some away games and then at home we look a different team. It’s been good in Europe but we’re too inconsistent in the Premier League.

    "We'll bounce back for sure.

"Fans can voice their opinions. They pay their hard-earned money. They're probably right to boo us in a way because we weren't good enough."

  12. 'Not good enough'published at 16:23 Greenwich Mean Time 6 November 2022

FT: Aston Villa 3-1 Man Utd

    Manchester United

Manchester United defender Luke Shaw, speaking to MOTD:

"We knew they were coming out with a new manager and a new feeling. We did expect it. But in games like this, if you start slowly in the first 20 minutes then you are going to lose.

"We were not good enough. We have always got to believe we can win games even when we're 2-0 down. We conceded early in the second haldf and it's a mountain to climb after that.

"If you watch the game back, you'll see we made a sloppy start. They were finding spaces and pockets and turning with ease. That is not good enough. We didn't deserve to win."

  13. 'Really impressive'published at 16:22 Greenwich Mean Time 6 November 2022

    FT: Southampton 1-4 Newcastle

    Alan Shearer
Former England striker on BBC Radio 5 Live

It was a really impressive performance. Again, a bit slow to start off with in the second half I was a bit concerned but once they got that second goal they looked really comfortable and dominant on the ball.

  14. 'At Chelsea the demand is always high'published at 16:21 Greenwich Mean Time 6 November 2022

    FT: Chelsea 0-1 Arsenal

    Chelsea

Chelsea's Cesar Azpilicueta talking to BT Sport: "Of course we are really disappointed with the result. We knew it would be a tough one, the set pieces went to the other team. With the ball we could have more control. It's hard to take.

"Here we are a team. When we don't get into good positions, we have to look at as a team where we can create chances. And how we can defend together, it's not all about the attacking players. We need to look at ourselves, we are not at the position we want to be. Goals scored, goals conceded, the way we want to play.

"The reality is Arsenal have been working together for longer, but at Chelsea the demand is always high. Once you step out on the pitch, it's a London derby."

  18. 'A massive win for Palace'published at 16:15 Greenwich Mean Time 6 November 2022

    West Ham 1-2 Crystal Palace

    Clinton Morrison
Former Crystal Palace striker on BBC Radio 5 Live

It's a massive win to go to West Ham. I thought it would be difficult there but to go there and win 2 -1 is a brilliant result. Zaha is doing what Zaha does and Michael Olise is an outstanding talent. Patrick Vieira is one of the best managers around, I'm not just saying that because obviously I'm close to Palace but speaking to a lot of people there and the player's there he's a big manager. He's never critical of the players when they lose, always encouraging them even if your not in the starting eleven. Palace are slowly but surely moving up the table.

Newcastle and England full-back Kieran Trippier on the hamstring injury he picked up in the first half: "I felt it tighten up as I stretched but I came out in the second half to carry on. I'm OK."

  20. All smiles at Villa Parkpublished at 16:08 Greenwich Mean Time 6 November 2022

Unai Emery is applauded by the fans and he claps back as the Spaniard makes his way towards the tunnel.

He, like the Villa fans, is all smiles after a dream first game as manager.

His impact has been immediate and his influence clear. There's a feeling this could be the perfect fit for both.
