    Andreas Weimann (10 mins)

Middlesbrough have missed a couple of early chances and the Robins have made them pay!

Andreas Weimann sends the ball out wide to Tommy Conway and continues his run into the box where Conway pulls it across goal to find the striker who guides it into the net.

That's the Austrian's first in sixteen - a surprising stat considering how prolific he has been at times in his career.

    QPR 0-0 West Brom

A huge early chance at Loftus Road is passed up by the visitors!

Hoops goalkeeper Seny Dieng makes a good stop to deny Jayson Molumby but it drops to Grady Diangana who misses the target with the goal at his mercy.

The Baggies desperately need points - will they rue that one later this afternoon?

    Rotherham 0-0 Norwich

Rotherham suffered late, late heartbreak in their 3-2 defeat at leaders Burnley on Wednesday.

They're showing no signs of a hangover today though.

The Millers are taking the game to the Canaries just now.

    Middlesbrough 0-0 Bristol City

Almost a dream start for Boro and Michael Carrick!

It starts with good work from Marcus Forss who finds Hayden Hackney but the midfielder sends his shot over the bar.

Good start for Boro who are looking to make it back-to-back wins.

A dark day at the Stadium of Light but brighter times ahead for Sunderland, looking for back-to-back wins for the first time this season.

Cardiff the visitors - will a 614 mile round trip be worth it for their supporters?

As one of their fans told me, “12 hours of sitting on a bus means I’m standing for this game”. Can’t blame the bloke!

  11. Millers look to move on from midweek heartbreakpublished at 14:54 Greenwich Mean Time 5 November 2022

    Rotherham v Norwich (15:00 GMT)

Rotherham looked like ending table-topping Burnley's unbeaten home start to the season on Wednesday when they entered injury-time with a 2-1 lead.

However, the Clarets conjured up two VERY late goals to consign the Millers to a chastening defeat.

Boss Matt Taylor has criticised the decision to add on 10 minutes of stoppage time and his side will now look to end a run of successive defeats against a Norwich side in questioable form.

The Canaries were on song in the opening weeks of the season but just one win from their past seven games has seen them drop back from the top two.

Another failure today could leave boss Dean Smith's position looking precarious ahead of the league's mini-break for the World Cup group stages.

Leam Richardson's Wigan have nosedived since beating Blackburn and lost five on the bounce.

There's no question Swansea have lost their way a tad after having to settle for just a point from their last two games.

But this game against a struggling Wigan side is staring them in the face as the one to get them back on track (if you'll allow me to use the cliche).

The Swans will be boosted by a home crowd and can make it five wins on the bounce at the Liberty Stadium with victory today.

Meanwhile, it seems like reported off-the-field issues could be effecting the visitors on the field too.

Wigan have lost their last five games and have tumbled into the relegation zone.

Leam Richardson's side are due a win and can hop up to mid-table with a victory. But it's a big ask for a team already taking on a lot of water.

  13. In-form Yates eyeing more goalspublished at 14:52 Greenwich Mean Time 5 November 2022

    Blackpool v Luton (15:00 GMT)

    Jerry YatesImage source, Rex Features

Blackpool are aiming to get back to winning ways this afternoon after a narrow loss against West Brom in midweek.

They had won their previous two and their upturn in form in recent weeks has been spearheaded by the goalscoring form of Jerry Yates, who has seven in his last six.

His nine goals this season make him the league's joint top-scorer and he will be looking to add to his tally against a Luton side without a win in three.

The Hatters will look to their own hitman in Carlton Morris, who has eight this season, to help them maintain their excellent record against the Tangerines.

Luton are unbeaten against Blackpool in 10 league matches stretching back to February 2003, and Nathan Jones has never lost against this afternoon's opponents as Luton boss.

  14. Rosenior hopes to get Tigers roaring once morepublished at 14:51 Greenwich Mean Time 5 November 2022

    Millwall v Hull (15:00 GMT)

Hull City appointed former player Liam Rosenior as their new manager on Thursday.

The 38-year-old helped the Tigers win promotion to the Premier League and played in an FA Cup final during his five years with the club.

He has said his aim is to take the club back to those heights but his more immediate concern will be leading them away from the bottom three in the second tier.

The Tigers, just a point above the dropzone, visit a Millwall side who have taken just one point fro their past two games but are just outside the play-offs.

    Watford v Coventry (15:00 GMT)

Three wins in a row for Watford is certainly a sign that Slavan Bilic has got his feet under the table. The nature of their 2-1 win at Cardiff can probably be read both ways. They really did grind out a result and relied on two corners to get them the three points, equally, winning when you’re not performing is still a positive sign.

Coventry City look like they’re recovering after a really poor start in the Championship. Being forced to play away from home due to issues with their stadium hosting rugby sevens at the Commonwealth Games didn’t help them whatsoever. But, having won none of their first seven games, they've been victorious in four of their last six. That included a midweek 1-0 home win over Blackburn Rovers.

Watford will be favourites but don’t rule out Sky Blues celebrations by full-time.

  16. Is now the time to face the in-form Blues?published at 14:48 Greenwich Mean Time 5 November 2022

Stoke City managed to stop the rot with a midweek win - can they find some consistency against in-form Birmingham City?

Stoke will have to bring their shooting boots to this one if they're to break down Birmingham, who boast the best defensive record in the Championship.

The Potters, who managed to stop a three-game losing run with a much-needed win over lowly Wigan in midweek, haven't performed great at home recently - losing three of their last five at the Bet365 Stadium.

Meanwhile, Birmingham are in fine form with only two losses from their last 11 league games. Boss John Eustace will be pleased with how his side have travelled so far this season picking up a fair share of points away from home.

But could some cracks in the armour be starting to show? The Blues have lost two of their last three on the road and they failed to get a single shot on target in their goalless draw with Millwall midweek.

    Expect a cagey affair.

  17. Beleaguered Terriers face bruised Blackburnpublished at 14:47 Greenwich Mean Time 5 November 2022

    Blackburn v Huddersfield (15:00 GMT)

    Mark FotheringhamImage source, Getty Images

It's been an utterly miserable start to the season for last season's beaten Championship play-off finalists Huddersfield.

The Terriers lost boss Carlos Corberan in the summer and then sacked replacement Danny Schofield in September after one win from their opening nine games.

Mark Fotheringham hasn't had much more luck than Schoefield and regardless of result today they will end the weekend in the bottom three.

Blackburn's games come with a guaranteed victor.

The Lancashire side have won 11 and lost eight of their 19 league games to date and a win over the division's bottom side will see return to second.

  18. Black Cats primed to pounce on Bluebirdspublished at 14:45 Greenwich Mean Time 5 November 2022

Sunderland v Cardiff City (15:00 GMT)

    Image caption,

Sunderland striker Amad Diallo, on loan from Manchester United, has scored twice in his past three games for the Black Cats.

Before Sunderland's midweek win over a struggling Huddersfield side they had only one win from their last eight Championship matches.

That statistic sounds pretty bad but if we take a closer look it's clear to see that Tony Mowbray has his side heading in the right direction in a tightly contested league.

The Black Cats have two wins and a draw from their last five outings and their form at home is decent, earning points from six of their last eight at the Stadium of Light.

It's a slightly less positive outlook for Cardiff City who have lost four of their last five league games and sit just two points off the relegation places.

You could argue that three of those losses came against teams inside the top 10. But it's hard to stay in games when you hold the joint worst record in attack.

Cardiff will have to be at their very best if they're to make the long journey to Sunderland worthwhile.

  19. QPR to inflict more away day woe on Baggies?published at 14:43 Greenwich Mean Time 5 November 2022

QPR v West Brom (15:00 GMT)

QPR players celebratingImage source, Getty Images

Two teams at opposite ends of the table meet at Loftus Road this afternoon as promotion-chasing QPR host the struggling Baggies.

Michael Beale's side have enjoyed a positive start to the season but will want to quickly arrest any hint of a wobble, with no win or goals scored in their last two.

That makes it a timely return to fitness for top-scorer Chris Willock after a hamstring injury, and Jimmy Dunne also returns to the matchday squad.

It's been a season of woe for West Brom who have won only three of their 18 league games and that poor run of form cost Steve Bruce his job.

His replacement, Carlos Corberan, earned his first win against Blackpool in midweek and will be hoping that can be the catalyst for a revival of their fortunes.

The Baggies can move out of the relegation zone on goal difference with victory today, but their away form - they have won just three of their last 20 on the road - suggests that might be a tall order.

  20. Carrick looking to make it back-to-back winspublished at 14:40 Greenwich Mean Time 5 November 2022

Middlesbrough v Bristol City (15:00 GMT)

Michael Carrick and Jonathan WoodgateImage source, Getty Images

Michael Carrick was given a helping hand by Hull in picking up his first win as Boro boss on Tuesday with two own goals easing his side to a 3-1 victory.

He has a good opportunity to make it back-to-back wins and start pushing his new side up the league this afternoon against Nigel Pearson's Robins.

However, the Riverside has not provided a lot of home comfort for Boro in recent times. Since winning eight consecutive home league games between last December and March this year, they have won just five of the next 14.

Carrick's charges are just one point outside the relegation zone and can move above Bristol City with a win, with the Robins without a victory in three.

Pearson's men have lost four of their last five away games and have tasted defeat in 13 away league games in 2022 - as many as they lost in 2021.

After a great start to the season which saw them sit fourth, with 14 points after eight games, their form has dipped dramatically, winning only two of 11 games since.
