  1. FULL-TIME - Livingston 1-1 Motherwellpublished at 16:59 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January 2023

Motherwell's Scottish Premiership relegation concerns deepen despite Kevin van Veen's cool finish to earn the Steelmen a point.

Morgan Boyes' header had gave Livi the lead, but it lasted all of a matter of minutes.

Liam Kelly produced two penalty saves as Nicky Devlin was forced to retake his spot-kick.

  2. FULL-TIME - St Johnstone 0-1 Dundee Unitedpublished at 16:59 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January 2023

Tony Watt's clever turn and finish secures Dundee United back-to-back victories and moves them three points clear of Ross County at the bottom of the league.

The game as a whole lacked quality, but Liam Fox won't care one bit.

  3. FULL-TIME Kilmarnock 0-0 St Mirrenpublished at 16:58 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January 2023

St Mirren battled to a goalless draw with Kilmarnock in the Scottish Premiership after Ethan Erhahon's early red card reduced the Paisley side to 10 men.

The midfielder, linked with a move down south, was sent off after only seven minutes, after catching Rory McKenzie in the face with his arm off the ball.

However, Derek McInnes' side could not make them pay as they failed to muster any clear-cut opportunities despite their man advantage.

Both sides remain where they were in the table, fifth and ninth respectively.

  4. FULL-TIME Aberdeen 0-0 Ross Countypublished at 16:58 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January 2023

The pressure remains on Aberdeen manager Jim Goodwin despite a draw with bottom-of-the-table Ross County at Pittodrie.

The Dons winless run extended to five games despite a glut of chances for the home side.

Matthew Kennedy had a first-half chance cleared off the line, and Vicente Besuijen passed up a late opportunity, but that was as close as they would come.

They remain in fourth, but fall five points behind Hearts in the race for third having played a game more.

It's now just one win in seven games for Aberdeen.

For Ross County, the draw ends a run of five straight defeats, but they are likely to end the day three points adrift at the bottom.

GOAL - Hearts 3-0 Hibernianpublished at 16:56 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January 2023

    Stephen Humphrys

    What an afternoon for Hearts.

Stephen Humphrys absolutely bullies his way through the Hibs backline and calmly slots beyond David Marshall to send the Hearts fans wild and the Hibs fans home.

    Hearts 2-0 Hibernian

Seven minutes of injury time at Tynecastle.

You'd have to imagine some of that has been carried over from the six minute stoppage for the VAR check that led to the Shankland penalty - a half that was given just four minutes of injury time.

I'm just as confused as you.

  7. Postpublished at 16:55 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January 2023

    Aberdeen 0-0 Ross County

Ross McCrorie races forward down the right but spurns a chance, flashing it across the face of the goal.

Aberdeen and Ross County will end a run of four defeats but a draw doesn't help either side.

  8. Postpublished at 16:52 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January 2023

    Kilmarnock 0-0 St Mirren

Alex Greive misses a golden opportunity to steal all three points.

St Mirren steal the ball and Greive finds himself in space about eight yards from goal, but he slices his effort inches over the bar. That should have been a goal.

  9. Postpublished at 16:47 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January 2023

    Hearts 2-0 Hibernian

Chris Cadden spurns the chance to set up a frantic finish.

The winger is picked out by a beautiful ping from Joe Newell, sending him in behind, before he cuts inside and curls wide of Zander Clark's far post.

  10. Postpublished at 16:45 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January 2023

    Aberdeen 0-0 Ross County

Vicente Besuijen should open the scoring for Aberdeen, but with the goal gaping from Jonny Hayes' cross he can only knock the ball into the hands of Ross Laidlaw.

The frustration grows for the home support at Pittodrie.

    Aberdeen 0-0 Ross County

    Tyrone Smith
    BBC Scotland

For all of their good play Aberdeen have not managed to make the breakthrough...it would be the ultimate smash and grab if County were to sneak a late winner?

  12. Postpublished at 16:44 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January 2023

    Hearts 2-0 Hibernian

Hibs have lost their last two games in the opening fixture of a new year, and there looks little sign of that trend turning at Tynecastle today.

2023 not full of new beginnings for the Hibees yet.

  13. Postpublished at 16:43 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January 2023

    Kilmarnock 0-0 St Mirren

Ben Chrisene whips in a superb cross from the left and Christian Doidge rises to meet it, but Trevor Carson pulls off a superb save to tip it wide.

That's as close as we've come in the second half, and Carson has possibly just saved a point for the visitors.

    Livingston 1-1 Motherwell

    Jane Lewis
    BBC Sport Scotland

Livingston manager Davie Martindale isn't a sit in the dug out kind of manager, but this afternoon he is kicking every ball with his players, and constantly bawling instructions from the touchline.

It's getting pretty tense and a bit tasty here...this game could go either way.

  15. Postpublished at 16:40 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January 2023

    Hearts 2-0 Hibernian

Robbie Neilson responds to the brighter Hibs play by looking to tighten things up with a change as Jorge Grant replaces Josh Ginnelly.

The visitors respond by resorting to more calamitous defending, as Rocky Bushiri reads a bouncing ball all wrong, allowing Barrie McKay to stride forward and put it past the post.

Folowing his miss, McKay departs for Stephen Humphrys.

  16. goal

GOAL - St Johnstone 0-1 Dundee Utdpublished at 16:40 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January 2023

    Tony Watt

The first piece of quality in front of goal all day - it's a vital goal for the visitors!

Aziz Behich finds some space down the left, cuts inside and finds Dylan Levitt on the edge of the box.

The Welsh midfielder picks out Tony Watt with his back to goal, and the United striker spins and fires a low shot into the bottom corner to break the deadlock.

    St Johnstone 0-0 Dundee United

    Kheredine Idessane
BBC Sport Scotland at McDiarmid Park

Into the final 15 minutes, and Dundee United bring on 16-year-old Scottish forward Rory Macleod. Anyone born in 2006 makes the rest of us feel old. Very old.

  18. Postpublished at 16:37 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January 2023

    Kilmarnock 0-0 St Mirren

Derek McInnes makes his move. Fraser Murray is on for Joe Wright, in a change that could only be described as 'attacking'.

There's also a yellow card for Alex Gogic for smashing Rory McKenzie in the face with his elbow. The claret is pouring from McKenzie's nose.

  19. Postpublished at 16:36 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January 2023

    St Johnstone 0-0 Dundee United

The lack of quality in the final third continues at McDiarmid Park.

James Brown gets away from his marker, but can only glance his header wide of Mark Birighitti's goal.

  20. Postpublished at 16:35 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January 2023

    Hearts 2-0 Hibernian

Elie Youan is single-handedly trying to drag Hibs back into the game here.

The Frenchman floats towards goal and glides through Hearts bodies, forcing a clearance that ricochets off Newell, springing Zander Clark into life with a reaction save.
