    Aberdeen 0-0 Ross County

Best move of the match so far from Ross County.

Kazeem Olaigbe turns Liam Scales and plays the ball right into the danger area, but Leighton Clarkson does well to turn it away for a corner kick.

From the set-piece, Aberdeen race forward on the counter attack through Luis Lopes, who crosses for Clarkson who has time and space to take the ball down, but blasts it over with his first touch.

  2. CLOSE!published at 16:08 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January 2023

    St Johnstone 0-0 Dundee United

The first real chance of the game goes the way of the hosts.

Stevie May pounces after some defensive uncertainty and Mark Birighitti has to get down quickly to save May's low drive.

    Aberdeen 0-0 Ross County (HT)

Aberdeen have done everything right .... bar score a goal. The Dons have dominated the game, carried plenty of menace, but the finishing touch is what is missing. County have a brilliant Iacovitti goal line clearance to thank for the scores remaining level at the break.

And having soaked up so much pressure in the opening 45 minutes the visitors will be remain optimistic about their chances of leaving the north east with something.

  6. HALF-TIME Livingston 1-1 Motherwellpublished at 15:58 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January 2023

Very few around West Lothian actually know what happened as Livingston were forced to retake a penalty which was eventually bundled in.

Ricki Lamie was penalised for handball, Nicky Devlin stood up, Liam Kelly saved but the rebound found the back of the net.

A VAR check came, for what appears to be Liam Kelly off his line. The 'Well goalkeeper saved the second time from Devlin to keep it goalless.

However, the Steelmen couldn't keep out Morgan Boyes' header but, they could quickly respond with a cracking Kevin van Veen volley.

  7. HALF-TIME Hearts 2-0 Hibernianpublished at 15:54 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January 2023

Hearts firmly have grasp of the game in Gorgie, as they lead city rivals Hibs by two goals at the interval.

Lawrence Shankland now has 18 goals in all competitions courtesy of another brace in front of his adoring Tynecastle audience.

Hibs have rarely troubled the Hearts goal, with Elie Youan having the only real clear-cut chance when Toby Sibbick saved the day with a sublime sliding challenge.

They'll be back out in 15 minutes, or 2.5 Tynecastle VAR checks...

  8. HALF-TIME Kilmarnock 0-0 St Mirrenpublished at 15:53 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January 2023

The big talking point, and possibly only talking point, was Ethan Erhahon's red card. The midfielder saw red for catching Rory McKenzie in the face with a stray forearm, off the ball.

That was only seven minutes into the game, and it led to an odd 45 minutes with plenty of Kilmarnock possession but very little final product.

With the Saints midfielder linked to a move down south, could this be the last time Erhahon appears in a Paisley shirt?

  9. HALF-TIME - St Johnstone 0-0 Dundee Unitedpublished at 15:52 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January 2023

A forgettable game so far at McDiarmid Park with neither side looking like scoring.

United have had plenty of possession, and fired a few long-range efforts towards Remi Matthews' goal, but are yet to carve out any clear-cut chances.

    Things can only get better.

    Livingston 0-0 Motherwell

Cristian Montano has taken a head knock and is receiving treatment. Just prior to this, five minutes were added on so we're going to be going for a good bit here yet.

  11. Postpublished at 15:51 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January 2023

    Hearts 2-0 Hibernian

Toby Sibbick, from zero to hero in seconds.

The Englishman carelessly lets the ball roll under his foot, allowing Elie Youan clean through on goal, but the resurgent Hearts defender strides back and puts in a beautifully-timed tackle to save his blushes and his side's clean sheet.

  12. HALF-TIME Aberdeen 0-0 Ross Countypublished at 15:51 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January 2023

It's goalless at Pittodrie, but it's not for a lack of trying from the home side.

Luis Lopes, Ross McCrorie, Leighton Clarkson and Matthew Kennedy in particular have all been lively for the hosts who have pinned Ross County back for long spells.

Despite the pressure, County goalkeeper Ross Laidlaw hasn't been that busy with the white shirts in front of him defending gallantly, with Alex Iacovitti clearing off the line to deny Kennedy in the game's best chance so far.

    Aberdeen 0-0 Ross County

Matthew Kennedy has no help on the right hand side with two Ross County defenders for company, but he manages to get a dangerous cross in which deflects into the arms of goalkeeper Ross Laidlaw.

  14. Postpublished at 15:48 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January 2023

    Kilmarnock 0-0 St Mirren

Kilmarnock are knocking on the door, but it's more like a game of chappy. Nothing at the end of it.

Danny Armstrong looks the most likely to score, nipping in from the right to curl to the far corner but it's blocked away.

  16. Postpublished at 15:42 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January 2023

    Aberdeen 0-0 Ross County

Big chance for Aberdeen as Luis Lopes gets down the left and lays the ball on a plate for Bojan Miovski a yard from goal.

However the 12-goal striker can't get the ball from out of his feet and his recent goal drought continues.

  17. Postpublished at 15:42 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January 2023

    St Johnstone 0-0 Dundee United

St Johnstone have had their first shot of the game, after 33 minutes.

Graham Carey's free-kick sailed harmlessly over the bar, but still.

  18. goal

GOAL - Livingston 1-0 Motherwellpublished at 15:40 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January 2023

    Morgan Boyes

It was all just a little bit slow motion as Stephen Kelly floated in a free-kick to the back-post. Rising highest was Morgan Boyes who simply nodded the ball back across goal for it to nestle in the net.

    Lawrence Shankland

A 15th goal of the Premiership season for Lawrence Shankland!

The Edinburgh Derby's first taste of VAR is causing chaos in Gorgie, with that whole debacle taking 6 mins and 7 seconds.

In the end, it's the familiar sight of Shankland sticking away a spot-kick and the Tynecastle faithful are in raptures.

It's very hard to know what's going on with monitors here, so I have no idea how the fans in Tynecastle feel.
