Matty AFC: Rashford and Saka both flying this season. Yet we didn't once see them on the wings with Foden down the middle for England. Really disappointing, they would have been a nightmare for any team.

  2. GREAT SAVE!published at 66 mins

    Man Utd 2-1 Everton

This time Bruno Fernandes does have a go.

And what a hit it is from range, swerving and dipping from around 30 yards out, but Jordan Pickford is equal to it with a superb save, tipping it over the bar.

Great opportunity. The ball fell to Mykolenko but he went with his wrong foot and United cleared it a yard or two off the line.

    Almost the Everton equaliser.

A brilliant run from sub Abdoulaye Doucoure sees him lay the ball off for Seamus Coleman's, whose low shot is kept out by David de Gea's outstretched boot.

Vitaly Mykolenko follows up but his scuffed shot is cleared off the line by Diogo Dalot.

    Shoooot!

Bruno Fernandes wins the ball back on the edge of the Everton area and elects to pass instead of having a pop, but Antony's effort is blocked.

Godfrey has caught him high up on the shin. You can see why Rashford stayed down, it's not good from Ben Godfrey.

Everton have been camped in their own half in the second half. When they have won the ball back, they've not been able to relieve the pressure because it has come straight back at them.

It hasn't been a bad performance at all from Everton today, but have they shown they have enough to escape relegation this season?

That goal owed everything to Marcus Rashford, who completely bamboozled Seamus Coleman before crossing for the goal.

He beat the Everton man once, then checked back and beat him again.

Rashford's pace and movement is making it so difficult for defenders just now. He really is a man in form.

It's really good play from Marcus Rashford. He takes Seamus Coleman to the byline, checks back and then checks back again before putting the ball across the Everton six-yard box.

Conor Coady sticks a leg out and it just comes off his studs into the the middle of the goal.

The only thing I'd say is that his body shape is faced towards the goal and he could have opened up his body a bit more but it's a difficult one. You can't be too critical.

  17. CLOSE!published at 53 mins

    Man Utd 2-1 Everton

United looking for a quick-fire third but Antony - looking for his second of the night - cuts in from the right and drills a low shot straight at Jordan Pickford.

Everton need to regather themselves again.

GOAL - Man Utd 2-1 Evertonpublished at 51 mins

    Conor Coady (own goal)

    Back in front.

He got the equaliser now Conor Coady has scored again in the same net. Unfortunately for him, it's an own goal.

It's superb wing play again from Marcus Rashford, stopping his man before the burst of pace to escape.

Rashford drills a dangerous ball low into the box, Coady stretches out a boot and diverts it into his own net.

How much did that injury to Alex Iwobi affect Everton?

  20. 'Iwobi looks upset'published at 21:07 Greenwich Mean Time 6 January 2023

Alex Iwobi has just gone over on his ankle and the ankle has gone inside. I'm hoping he hasn't done his ankle ligaments because it looks like that.

The momentum of the challenge from Malacia has rocked his ankle. It'll either be one where he has jarred it and is fine to carry on or he won't be able to continue and could be out for a few weeks.

I'm hoping what we're seeing now is just precautionary but Iwobi looks upset. Players know when something is bad.
