Andrew: Newcastle playing well but need to take their chances. They've looked just a bit less clinical since the WC break. Hopefully Isak can reverse this in the second half if the game and the season.

Newcastle United have stopped the opposition from scoring a first-half goal in 18 of their 20 games, more than any other side in the Premier League this season.

I quite enjoyed that first half. It's the first time I have seen Newcastle live and I am very impressed with them. They look very well organised, well drilled defensively and you have always got runners in behind.

The only concern I would have is that goal threat. Callum Wilson has not really had an opportunity. They have had two shots at goal, one from Dan Burn with his left foot and one with Joelinton which was straight at goal.

For the possession that they've had and the areas where they have had it, they have not done enough.

That's flown by. A good tempo and intensity. Lots of promise from Newcastle but no end product. Palace haven't really tested Nick Pope.

Decent header from Chris Richards! The corner comes to him at a good height but he can't keep it down. Just over the bar.

That just came from Newcastle pushing up, there was a ball over the top. Was there a lot of contact there? It looked like Zaha was always going over and he just lost his balance.

Wilfried Zaha thinks he has a case for a penalty. He runs in between the two centre-backs and is onside. He carries it into the box, feels contact from Kieran Trippier and goes down.

Odsonne Edouard follows it up and his shot is blocked. Zaha protests but it's a good decision from the referee.

The fans at the moment feel like the referee is not taking control of the situation. The home supporters just feel that the Newcastle players are going down too easily.

Eberechi Eze catches Miguel Almiron and gives away a free-kick. Kieran Trippier curls it in from the right and it bounces off Fabian Schar, who saw it late, and into the hands of Vicente Guaita.

Good work by Kieran Trippier, who is under pressure as he stops a Palace counter-attack on the left, juggling it off his head and out for a throw-in.

I think Joelinton up against Joel Ward is a bit of a mismatch for pace and physicality. I would be looking to get the ball over that side of the pitch a little bit more and try to isolate him one v one. I think they'll get plenty of chances that way.

Dan Burn shouts "leave it" to Joelinton as he goes for a header but he heard it late. Sven Botman has to come across to hoof it into the stands as it falls dangerously close to Odsonne Edouard.

Newcastle are lacking the end product but the way they are playing around the pitch and closing down, it's all good to watch.

No malice in that from Ayew on Botman, I think he genuinely went to win the ball. He certainly only had eyes on the ball and there was a coming together.

Definitely getting scrappier. Jordan Ayew comes in hard on Sven Botman.

Newcastle want a corner as Sven Botman uses his body to shield the ball on the backline and Joel Ward comes in to poke it out.
