Newcastle then break through Miguel Almiron but he's fouled by Tyrick Mitchell.

Eze is down and that's a real concern. Nothing but injury after injury for Eze over the last few seasons. This would be a great shame if he had to go off so early in this match.

Eberechi Eze is on his feet and heads off to the touchline. Hopefully he's fit to carry on.

Guehi got booked earlier in the game and he just took Wilson out completely. That's a big call from the referee there. Guehi is very lucky there, very lucky indeed.

Newcastle try a training ground routine on the free-kick. Callum Wilson peels off the back and it falls to Joe Willock but he volleys it wildly over the bar.

Meanwhile. Eberechi Eze is currently down at the other end needing treatment.

The pace of the game has been good. Both sides have had good attitude and commitment. It seems like Crystal Palace are just trying to keep their shape and frustrate Newcastle as much as possible.

Eddie Howe will be delighted with his side. They have been the dominant force. The only thing would be that when they have had a few shots, they have not really tested the keeper in the right way and he has been able to make the saves.

Joe Willock has another go at Joel Ward and this time the Palace defender comes out on top to earn a goal kick.

Bruno Guimaraes turns nicely in the middle but overruns it a little. He collides with Jeffrey Schlupp and gives away a free-kick to Palace.

Wilfried Zaha runs in behind with Eberechi Eze in support but Kieran Trippier is back there for Newcastle.

Kieran Trippier has been an absolutely outstanding signing for Newcastle. He works so hard for the team and is always supporting his winger like he did there with Miguel Almiron.

Really nice play by Newcastle. Miguel Almiron tries to feed it into Callum Wilson on the spin but it's cut-out.

Newcastle are looking to be progressive and get the ball in behind. Willock, Almiron, Longstaff, Joelinton, they have runners and they are always looking to breach that back line.

Miguel Almiron's runs are asking questions of the Palace defence. He wins another corner which is taken quickly but again, Newcastle can't capitalise.

Joelinton had to go across the keeper. He should have curled it into the corner. Another threat for Newcastle who look most likely to get the opening goal in this game.

Huge chance for Joelinton. He slips in and has a clean sight of goal in the box but the shot is poor as it dribbles into the hands of Vicente Guaita from close range.

Everton

Everton manager Frank Lampard to Sky Sports: "We had a lot of the game, the way West Ham play they afford you the ball at times. We moved it well at times but we have to be more clinical. We missed some chances and weren't dynamic enough. They had a couple of moments where they were dynamic and it changed the game."

On what he can do to turn things around: "Keep working, the only way I know. Working at the training ground, going again. We have to be better as a team as if you score it can give you give a good feeling, if you don't the feeling is there for the other team and that happened with West Ham."

On the reaction of the Everton fans at full time: "You can't expect Everton fans who have travelled down today to be happy with a defeat. You can't fault the lads' effort. But when you are in a tough moment things don't go for you. Everyone needs to keep working to turn a corner for us."

On his future: "Those things are not my choice, it is my job to work, focus and keep my head down. I have confidence in how I want to coach. There's difficult conditions that I am aware of. I just do my job and talk about what I can affect, and that's the players trying to get the right results."

On the Everton board watching the game: "All a lot has been made of that, I know there are issues. I'm not trying to close my ears but as a coach it is not significant.

"They communicate all the time and have done all the time I have been here. It is not my job to make them public."

On reported signing of Arnaut Danjuma: "That's not done yet so I won't go there. We need to help the squad as a game like today as a good example of a match where we had a lot of control but need to be tougher and more clinical."
