Leeds are trying to build some momentum, but there are already signs of the threat Brentford pose on the counter. They really do motor forward in numbers.

Leeds, in typical fashion, are trying to pen the away side in around their own box. It's that frantic high press that causes panic in defenders. A big factor in this game will be how calm and clinical the Bees backline can be in getting the ball out.

The youngster has displaced Joao Cancelo in this City team and you have to say he doesn't look out of place.

Raul Jimenez was sent off in ridiculous fashion in the corresponding fixture last season.

The Wolves striker was booked for bringing Rodri down in the centre of the pitch, then shown a second yellow card for stopping the free-kick being taken quickly.

The whole sorry episode took 48 seconds from start to finish.

David Raya almost gets himself into a bit of a mess at the back as Rodrigo closes him down. He is able to smuggle the ball away, though.

Good keeper Raya. He has been the subject of some transfers rumours of late, but the Bees will not want to lose him.

Finally Kevin de Bruyne swings in a vicious delivery which Jose Sa does well to punch to safety.

"Come on City, come on City," sing the home supporters.

We still haven't seen the corner being taken because City defender John Stones has taken a tumble twice in the box now.

On both occasions, the referee has a word with Nelson Semedo.

Jack Harrison tries to link up with Leeds leading goalscorer Rodrigo, but the Spaniard can't control the ball in the box. Goal kick.

Looks like Max Wober is playing in then middle of defence for Leeds, with Pascal Struijk - a centre-back trade - operating on the left, as he has for much of the season.

It was thought it would be the other way around when Wober was signed.

That midweek rallying call, rant, whatever you want to call it, seems to have worked.

The City fans are making a decent noise early on and Pep Guardiola wanted that from minute one.

This is an altogether tougher task for the Whites. Brentford are a very tough nut to crack.

Riyad Mahrez has emerged from the post World Cup period as Manchester City's dangerman.

The Algerian wasn't in Qatar and Pep Guardiola did say those who were would be fitter for the second half of the season.

But Mahrez has been carrying the Blues major attacking threat over the past month, so it is no surprise Guardiola has selected him today.

Away we go at the Etihad and Elland Road.

A chilly Sunday hopefully warmed up by some sizzling football.

Adam Traore is the most unpredictable, frustrating player in the Premier League. We know he is so capable of it but the consistency is not there with him. The fans get frustrated with him because his end product often lets him down.

However, when you have that pace on the counter attack, there will be gaps for him to run into. He has got to pick his time, when to go and he's also got to get the right passes to get him free to get him on his way.
