It's a scrappy game that is lacking real quality.

Brennan Johnson's strike has been the only moment of quality so far and he is looking lively on the right.

Forest are playing very much on the counter here.

Brennan Johnson has acres of space on the right to run into before playing a low ball to Morgan Gibbs-White. His shot is blocked.

Leeds have failed to win in their last seven matches when conceding the opening goal in the English Premier League dating back to 6th August 2022 against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Leeds will probably feel they don't need to change too much despite conceding. They've been on top.

They really are struggling in defence, though. They lack any conviction in dealing with some situations. Pascal Struijk's clearing header from that free-kick was weak and invited Johnson's hit.

Leeds cannot defend set pieces. It's a foul by Struijk. They deal with the first one but they don't deal with the second one.

The finish from Brennan Johnson is brilliant. This is a young man in form.

The technique to control that and volley that into the bottom corner, fantastic.

And now the Forest fans are singing.

"Leeds are falling apart again" is the now standard chant.

Forest have barely had a kick so far. That was pretty much their first attack from the free-kick. And yet they lead.

It is all about making the most of your opportunities.

Brennan Johnson's first involvement in the game sees him get shoved over by Pascal Struijk after flicking the ball past the Leeds defender.

The ref has his yellow card straight away. Really not sure that is a bookable offence.

Willy Gnonto is furious. He thinks he should have a corner as he is tackled and held up by Neco Williams. The referee thinks the last touch was the Italian's, though.

Leeds have started really well, they are the team on the front foot at the moment.

Forest think they have a chance to break and are upset when a coming together sees Remo Freuler go down. The home fans scream for a free-kick, but the referee isn't having it.

Roca and Adams are winning that midfield battle at the moment. It's weird because they have two in midfield while Forest have three but they are still winning it.

Well that is a waste!

Leeds have a free-kick in the Forest half. It is quite central, but even so Max Wober should do better than swinging the ball straight out for a goal-kick.

Marc Roca gets on the ball in midfield and chips a ball forward for Patrick Bamford, but there is no way he is reaching it. Scott McKenna is there to nod back to Navas.

It looked like Morgan Gibbs-White would be out for a bit but it's good news for Forest.

Gibbs-White and Brennan Johnson have been outstanding for Forest so far this season.

Now Luke Ayling lines up a shot from range but it is blocked by a Forest defender before it can test Keylor Navas.

Leeds continue ton effectively pin Forest back in their own half. It's a very controlled start from the away side.
