Two in-form teams looking to move into the play-offs meet at Kenilworth Road.

Luton Town have won their past three in the league and are in seventh place, lurking behind Middlesbrough and Millwall on goal difference.

West Brom fans may have almost forgotten their wretched start to the season under Steve Bruce, with eight wins in nine bouncing the Baggies up to ninth.

Carlos Corberan's side are just a point behind their hosts.

Only Sheffield United have picked up more Championship points than Albion in the 10 games since the Spaniard took charge, taking 25 to WBA's 24.

There's a big clash at the top of the third tier as third-placed Ipswich Town host league leaders Plymouth Argyle.

The Tractor Boys have slipped out of the automatic promotion places after one win in their past four, and are now seven points behind the Devonians.

Elsewhere second-placed Sheffield Wednesday go to Wycombe while managerless Portsmouth make the trip to fifth-placed Bolton.

Cambridge's game against Morecambe was called off on Friday because of wind damage to the roof of a stand at the Abbey Stadium.

All games kick off at 15:00 GMT.

    • Accrington Stanley v Bristol Rovers
    • Bolton Wanderers v Porsmouth
    • Burton Albion v Shrewsbury
    • Cambridge United P-P Morecambe
    • Charlton Athletic v Barnsley
    • Cheltenham Town v Derby County
    • Exeter City v Forest Green Rovers

    Watford v Blackpool (15:00 GMT)

Watford are in the play-off places but are another side looking over their shoulders because of both their injury list and the congested nature of the Championship.

The Hornets shrugged off back-to-back defeats by Millwall and Swansea to take all three points away from Norwich on 2 January, and can move up to third with a win today.

Boss Slaven Bilic can now give his full attention to the league after their FA Cup exit at Reading last weekend.

Blackpool make the trip to Vicarage Road at a low ebb.

The Tangerines are nine without a win in the Championship - the longest current run by any side in the second tier.

Having drawn four of their past five, Michael Appleton's men are aiming to secure their first-ever league double over Watford.

    Middlesbrough v Millwall (15:00 GMT)

Middlesbrough have had an impressive turnaround in fortunes since Michael Carrick took charge in October.

They've risen from 21st to the heady heights of 5th in the Championship, partly thanks to six wins in their past seven.

Carrick's 22 points from his first 10 games is the most by a new Boro boss since Bryan Robson took one more in 1994.

Striker Chuba Akpom is rejuvenated too, with 10 goals in 11 games.

The hosts are only ahead of visitors Millwall on goal difference.

The Lions make the long trip north aiming to extend their four-match unbeaten run, having kept five clean sheets in their past eight outings.

  5. Blades look to extend gap to play-off packpublished at 14:37 Greenwich Mean Time 14 January 2023

Sheffield United v Stoke City (15:00 GMT)

The Sheffield United bandwagon hit the slightest of hitches last time out in the Championship, with the Blades seeing their five-match winning run come to an end at QPR.

However, a strike from John Egan in the sixth minute of stoppage time meant that Paul Heckingbottom's side went away from Loftus Road with a point.

The Bramall Lane outfit have a nine-point cushion to third place after Blackburn lost 4-0 at Rotherham in the early kick-off.

Visitors Stoke are three without a win in the league but won 3-0 at League Two strugglers Hartlepool in the FA Cup last weekend.

The Potters began the day four points clear of the relegation zone.

  6. Clarets continue march back to Premier Leaguepublished at 14:34 Greenwich Mean Time 14 January 2023

Burnley v Coventry City (15:00 GMT)

    Vincent KompanyImage source, Getty Images

It does not look like there will be anyone stopping Burnley from clinching an immediate return to the Premier League.

The Clarets have won 10 of their past 11 in the Championship, opening up a 14-point gap to third-placed Blackburn Rovers.

Vincent Kompany's men added in the top-flight scalp of Bournemouth in the FA Cup last weekend, and are yet to lose in the league at Turf Moor this season.

Coventry, meanwhile, are looking to remain in touching distance of the play-offs but have won just one of their past six.

However, no side has kept more clean sheets in the Championship this season than Coventry's 12.

Make that a baker's dozen and perhaps the Sky Blues could inflict a first home defeat on the leaders.

As the dust settles on that result in South Yorkshire, we have to power on with a look ahead to all the action coming up at 15:00 GMT.

There are 11 more games in the second tier, with League One and League Two action on the horizon too.

We'll start at the top of the Championship...

    Rotherham 4-0 Blackburn

Huge win for the Millers, in every sense!

They climb four points clear of the bottom three with their first win since 8 November.

Hakeem Odoffin gave the Millers the lead with the quickest goal scored in the second tier this season after just 33 seconds.

Blackburn dominated the rest of the first half but couldn't find a way to breach the home defence and Ollie Rathbone thundered in from outside the area to make it 2-0 after half-time.

Shane Ferguson then curled in directly from a corner and Conor Washington wrapped it all up in injury-time.

Rovers, who are still yet to draw after 27 league games, remain third but results later today could see them 12 points off second-placed Sheffield United.

    Conor Washington

    Icing on the cake!

Daniel Barlaser pokes a ball through to Conor Washington on the edge of the six-yard box and he snaps a low shot across the goal into the bottom corner.

What a day for the Millers!

  10. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 90 mins

    Rotherham 3-0 Blackburn

A fifth and final change for the home side.

Hakeem Odoffin, who got the scoring started after 33 seconds, is off and Jamie Lindsay is on.

All three of Rotherham's goals today have come from outside the area.

I mean... The third one from Shane Ferguson came from the corner quadrant.

  14. Postpublished at 81 mins

    Rotherham 3-0 Blackburn

Just not Blackburn's day at all.

A deep cross goes over the Rotherham defence to Bradley Dack at the back stick.

He's caught between trying to tee it back across the box or shoot and just sort of does neither.

  15. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 80 mins

    Rotherham 3-0 Blackburn

Sean Morrison's debut for Rotherham comes to an end and he makes way for veteran Richard Wood.

Great effort from Morrison today, who was making his first appearance since suffering a serious nee injury last February.

  16. Postpublished at 78 mins

    Rotherham 3-0 Blackburn

Two of the big beneficiaries of this result will be Blackburn's east Lancashire rivals Burnley and Rotherham's South Yorkshire foes Sheffield United.

Wins for the top two today, combined with Watford failing to record victory, would see them go 17 and 12 points respectively clear of the third place.

Could the race for automatic promotion be all-but over before February?

    Shane Ferguson

    Wow, wow, wow!

Shane Ferguson scores directly from a corner for the home side!

He curls it in from the Rotherham right with his left foot and Thomas Kaminski can not scramble it off his line.

  18. YELLOW CARDpublished at 74 mins

    Rotherham 2-0 Blackburn

First booking of the day goes to Rotherham's Ollie Rathbone.

The mam who made it 2-0 to the home side is shown a yellow for a really cynical trip on Dylan Markanday on the halfway line.

  19. Postpublished at 70 mins

    Rotherham 2-0 Blackburn

This will be defeat 13 of the season for Blackburn unless they can do something pretty special in the final 20 minutes.

It's looking like it's going to be 27 league games without a draw for the Lancashire side. Crazy.

  20. Postpublished at 64 mins

    Rotherham 2-0 Blackburn

Rotherham have defended really well since making it 2-0.

It's a long way back for Rovers, who have not recovered a single point from a losing position all season, from here.
