What an opening quarter to this game.

Both sides have brought their shooting boots and are well up for this.

The score looks one-sided at the moment but honestly, right now, anything could happen.

A nightmare start for Coventry City to be three down inside 18 minutes.

An element of fortune about both the first two goals. But the bottom line is that the Canaries have started well in this tale of two Cities - and Cov haven't.

Home boss Mark Robins looks unmoved and resolute in the home technical area, knowing that there is still a long way to go.

And to hit back with such an instant response by the hosts from skipper Jamie Allen shows that the players believe it too.

    Coventry -0-2 Norwich

Coventry are having to work really hard now to keep Norwich at bay.

Teemu Pukki is a handful every time he has the ball.

    Norwich have another!

Onel Hernandez collects a cross on the edge of the six-yard-box, which was a bit stuck between his feet, but he skilfully gets it out turns and fires the ball into the back of the net.

The Coventry keeper Ben Wilson seemed to get a hand on the low shot but it still fizzed past.

    Coventry 0-1 Norwich

That woud have been Grant Hanley's second goal this season.

The skipper isn't known for his goal scoring prowess but he was in the right place at the right time on that set-piece.

Unfortunately, the big defender didn't get the decisive touch.

It's a glorious day in Coventry. And the sun is high in the sky to welcome new Sky Blues owner Doug King for his first home game since he formally took charge.

And we have a potential battle of the Baltic in store as two of the Championship's most feared strikers - Sweden's Viktor Gyokeres and Finland's Teemu Pukki - go head to head.

The only snag is that, if that dazzling winter sun does not dip over the top of the stand soon at the south-west end, nobody in the pressbox will be able to see it.

It is almost blinding! Let's hope the game is too!

Nathan Tella celebrates scoring Burnley's equaliser before they romped to victory at Turf Moor

What a night of Championship football we had on Friday.

Leaders Burnley came from behind and fought until the very end, scoring twice in the final 15 minutes, to snatch a 2-1 win from West Bromwich Albion at Turf Moor.

Second place Sheffield United’s early goal was enough to defeat Hull 1-0 and keep the pressure on the Clarets, with five points splitting the two sides at the top of the table.

But ultimately, both Burnley and the Blades will be pleased to further extend their lead on third place Watford who have a lot of ground to make up if they want one of the two automatic promotion spots.

    Image caption,

Coventry and Norwich are both still in the play-off hunt despite some lacklustre form of late.

Coventry are have faded away in recent weeks and are on their worst run of form this season with just one win from their last seven Championship matches since the World Cup break.

A dry spell in-front of goal hasn’t helped the Sky Blues who’ve only found the back of the net three times in their last five games – the previous five they scored eight goals.

But it’s not all doom and gloom, Mark Robins men are closer to the play-off places – six points adrift – than they are the relegation zone despite sitting in 15th place in the Championship table.

Meanwhile, are Norwich about to find their groove and turn their season around with new head coach David Wagner at the helm?

They’re coming off a stonking 4-0 away win over Preston after a poor run of form that saw them only claim one win from their previous five league matches.

The Canaries are only two points off the playoff places and will be feeling confident facing Coventry after thumping them 3-0 earlier in the season.

But Coventry are entering a new era under new ownership - will dreams of change motivate Mark Robins men today? This should be a good one under sunny skies and in freezing conditions at the CBS Arena.

    Are you warm?

It's going to be another freezing weekend of football and sadly we've already had a number of matches called-off due to frozen pitches, including Blackpool versus Huddersfield.

But we soldier on complete with thermal leggings, woolly hats and two pairs of gloves.

Coventry City host Norwich City in the early kick-off followed by seven other fixtures this afternoon.

So wrap-up warm, grab a cuppa (use any left over boiling water for a hot water bottle) and lock yourself in for an afternoon of proper winter Championship football.

    Lets go!
