A long passing sequence for Celtic drags Morton one way then another but the Championship side keep the door shut.

The pace has dipped a little and that allows Morton to make a rare foray up the park but they can't call Joe Hart into action.

Alistair Johnston should really be celebrating his first Celtic goal as the full-back gathers a smart pass from Aaron Mooy then spins to shoot from close range. There's no power on it though and Brian Schwake is able to flop down and save.

James Forrest is on for Celtic, with the influential Liel Abada going off.

Even at times when we think we're following the laws of the game about penalties, we are proven wrong again and again.

The supporting arm gets Ambrose out of jail, although we did see Uruguay penalised for something similar at the World Cup.

David Turnbull fancies a second goal as he takes aim with another low shot from just outside the box. Brian Schwake gets down well to keep this effort out.

Here come Celtic again and Morton keeper Brian Schwake puffs his cheeks in relief as an Aaron Mooy shot deflects into his arms.

Mooy is involved again soon after, flicking a Alexandro Bernabei cross against the post and it somehow stays out.

Double change for both sides.

Tomoki Iwata and Sead Haksabanovic are on for Celtic. Callum McGregor and two-goal Kyogo are the men getting a rest.

Alex King and Darragh O'Connor are on for Morton, taking over from Lewis Strapp and Grant Gillespie.

Efe Ambrose certainly had an eventful first half, gifting the second goal with a poor touch after being penalised for handball for the opening spot-kick.

It's very difficult for Morton, you'd be fuming obviously (at the penalty award). I don't think VAR has made the game any better. You can't celebrate goals, nothing... Not one Celtic player or supporter claimed a penalty kick, and that tells me enough about it.

The decision with the penalty changes the course of the game. I can't understand [how it was given]. The VAR official took 2 minutes and 15 seconds to tell the referee to go over to the screen. It's a poor decision. For me, they've got it wrong.
