Chelsea v Borussia Dortmund (20:10 GMT, 0-1 first leg)

One of Borussia Dortmund's star players is 19-year-old England midfielder Jude Bellingham, who is constantly linked with Premier League clubs.

Boss Edin Terzic said: "He had opportunities to join the Premier League but he chose to join us because he knows it can be the perfect step for him. I think we've proven it both ways. He's helping us a lot. But we as a club are helping him and his career as well.

"We are really happy that he's part of our team, he's one of our leaders at 19. But we know that we need a good performance from him on Tuesday.

"It'll be a topic for his future, but our future now is that we're going to face a really tough opponent and so we need him in a good way."

Team-mate Emre Can said: "He's a world-class talent, everybody knows his potential. Jude has to know himself what he is doing.

"It's difficult to say what is best for him. He and his family have to decide that."

Chelsea boss Graham Potter says they need their fans on board tonight.

The Blues fans showed their anger after last week's home loss to Southampton.

"They've been suffering like the rest of us have with the results we've had but I thought the reception we had and the support we had at the weekend [against Leeds] was fantastic," Potter said.

"They were behind the team and I think they know the importance of the game on Tuesday night. They want the team to progress and they know how important they are because in the Champions League away from home it's tough.

"We want to make sure it's tough for Dortmund and we need our supporters for that."

Dortmund are missing the pace of Adeyemi and they've lost a big outlet on the counter.

He kept Marco Reus, the captain, out of this team on the left-hand side since switching there after the World Cup, he's gone to another level this calendar year.

Dortmund will have to play slower without him.

It's one of those nights when you really get up for it as a player.

You've got to win this game, you've got to prep well and hopefully, Potter has a good plan because during the game there will be a lot of changes.

Borussia Dortmund's fans are always a colourful and noisy presence and tonight at Stamford Bridge is no exception.

There is an air of tension among the Chelsea supporters but Dortmund's followers are in full voice and waving the club's famous yellow and black flags. They are optimistic as they take a 1-0 first leg lead into this Champions League last 16 clash.

I don't think this is Potter's problem, it's a club problem. If you look at Arsenal, City, United or Liverpool, you know roughly who is going to play at the weekend. For Chelsea, you cannot tell from game to game.

Dortmund are waiting to see if anyone wants to make an offer for Bellingham. They want to extend his contract but they accept he will go eventually.

They are looking at 150m euros but it's going to be incredibly hard to keep him.

Club Bruges forward Noa Lang, who has scored eight goals in all competitions for the Belgian club this season, is not giving up on his Champions League dream just yet.

"Everyone knows that we are in a very difficult situation, and I am trying to pull the team out of it," he said. "I feel like one of the leaders of the team.

It is a match we are looking forward to. This is the highest level. This is what you dream of as a child. It will be difficult, but anything is possible in football. We should start from that."

By their own high standards, Benfica are in a silverware drought, last winning the Portuguese league title in 2019. But according to Pedro Mil-Homens, it feels like their trophy cabinet is bursting.

As director of Benfica's youth academy, Mil-Homens' job is not to worry about beating rivals Porto or Sporting or progressing in the Champions League. His primary concern is to ensure the club produces the best young talent in Portugal.

This season, Benfica's side contains three players who have passed through those doors: top scorer Goncalo Ramos, who scored a World Cup hat-trick for Portugal against Switzerland last year; Portugal defender Antonio Silva and midfielder Florentino.

The trio are helping propel Benfica towards the league title and they are on track to reach the Champions League quarter-finals, sitting on a 2-0 lead over Club Bruges before tonight's last-16 second leg at home.

"We all like to win trophies but our real trophies, the important ones, are seeing our Florentino, our Antonio Silva and our Goncalo Ramos in the first team," says Mil-Homens.

"Not just reaching the team but showing the quality and capacity to stay there for a long period of time."

Chelsea lost away in the first leg of a Champions League knockout stage tie for the eighth time. However, of the previous seven the Blues have ending up progressing (four) more often than they have been eliminated (three).

They won six of their first seven Champions League home games against German sides but are winless in their past two.
