  2. Waiting game for St Mirrenpublished at 22:01 Greenwich Mean Time 31 January 2023

    Brian McLauchlin
    BBC Sport Scotland

We're still waiting on confirmation of the Tony Watt deal to St Mirren from Dundee United. I'm told that'll be coming imminently.

The Buddies are also still waiting on Dylan Reid's move to Crystal Palace going through - that will happen though. There's just over an hour left of the transfer window in England.

  3. Nisbet a 'big loss'published at 21:57 Greenwich Mean Time 31 January 2023

Hibernian manager Lee Johnson says it's too early to tell how bad Kevin Nisbet's hamstring injury is, but adds he'll be a "big loss".

Also said he is "fed up" with VAR, because he feels County's equaliser should have been chalked off for a foul on David Marshall.

  5. Right-back needed for Aberdeen?published at 21:47 Greenwich Mean Time 31 January 2023

Ross: Can we offload some of our 79 winger/midfielders who can't really cross a ball or score? 2 Defenders and a keeper been brought in, so that's nice. A right back (a proper one who defends) so we can actually play McCrorie in midfield would be superb.

Alastair: Aberdeen like all Scottish clubs have massive financial constraints. Most players available to them are journeymen from the lower leagues in England or cheap foreign. The whole of Scottish football should be investing in youth development. You're not going to challenge for silverware with players signed from Fleetwood and Gillingham.

Steve: Ryan Gauld would be a fantastic signing. Young, determined and eager to impress. A new right back would certainly be required. If there's enough money left in the coffers a striker to replace Ramirez would no doubt be a welcomeboost. What we wouldn't do for a "Charlie Nicholas" deadline day signing! That would get the red army chanting again!

I think Gauld might be on a bob or two over in MLS after a great season with Vancouver Whitecaps.

We understand that goalkeeper Gary Woods has left Kilmarnock by mutual consent.

The former Dons man reunited with Derek McInnes in the summer, but struggled for game time in Ayrshire behind Sam Walker and Zach Hemming.

  9. Lowry to stay at Ibrox?published at 21:30 Greenwich Mean Time 31 January 2023

Reports earlier suggested St Mirren were interested in taking Rangers' 19-year-old midfielder Alex Lowry on loan.

But the Athletic's Jordan Campbell is reporting that the Scotland under-21 international is likely to stay at Ibrox now.

  15. 'Robinson relationship important for Watt'published at 21:10 Greenwich Mean Time 31 January 2023

    Craig Levein
Former Dundee United manager on BBC Sportsound

I think that move will partly be down to Tony's previous relationship with Stephen Robinson. He was the manager who unlocked his progress, which had stalled for a long time.

Tony was a rising star when he was younger, and it seemed as though it had halted altogether, until Stephen got him at Motherwell - then he started to pick up again.

I don't know what's happening at Dundee United, things seemed to have gone sour for him there. It'll be good for Tony to be back with a manager that believes in him.

  16. Hoppe's pedigreepublished at 21:06 Greenwich Mean Time 31 January 2023

The good news, Hibs fans is Matthew Hoppe clearly has decent pedigree. He scored a hat-trick in the Bundesliga for Schalke two seasons ago as they were relegated.

On the down side, he's not played much this season at Middlesbrough - making only six substitute appearances in the Championship.

Will Hibs get the best from him?

  17. Anxious wait for Motherwell fanspublished at 21:03 Greenwich Mean Time 31 January 2023

    Scott Mullen
    BBC Scotland

Award for the most anxious support of the night? It probably goes to Motherwell fans. There's been a need for reinforcements ever since Steven Hammell took over in August, and the Well boss has been backed so far in the window.

However, more movement was expected within Fir Park. As of yet today, it's all in one direction. While fans won't be overly traumatised at the loss of Connor Shields, Sondre Solholm being sold will raise a few eyebrows, as well as glances to rapidly-refreshing Twitter feeds to see who will be coming in. Three hours to go...

  18. Killie & United on hunt; Livi donepublished at 20:57 Greenwich Mean Time 31 January 2023

    Brian McLauchlin
    BBC Sport Scotland

I'm told that Kilmarnock are very keen to bring in one striker, possibly two, having lost Kyle Lafferty and Oli Shaw already today.

Dundee United are also keen for one or two players to come in on loan.

However, there will be no players coming into the Tony Macaroni Arena tonight. Livingston are done, although a couple may head out.

  19. Hoppe will 'add extra quality'published at 20:52 Greenwich Mean Time 31 January 2023

Hibernian manager Lee Johnson: “We’re delighted to add Matthew to the group as he’s someone that’ll add extra quality in the final third.

“He’s a talented player that can play in all three positions across our front line and someone that joins with good experience being a full US international and that has played regularly in the Bundesliga.

“We look forward to working with him and welcome him to the club.”

  20. Deal done - Matthew Hoppe joins Hibspublished at 20:50 Greenwich Mean Time 31 January 2023

Hibs have signed 21-year-old USA forward Matthew Hoppe. He has eight caps for his country, and has been at Schalke and Real Mallorca.

He's joined from Middlesbrough on loan until the end of the season.
