Plenty to mull over for the Buddies, with a revolving door in full operation at the SMiSA Stadium. What are you saying to it, Buddies fan?

Stu: Typical we loan Brophy out to Ross County, then Ayunga gets injured. Tony Watt could be a good for us, but it's down to him. He showed so much promise at Celtic. Ethan Erhahon will be missed and difficult to replace. The spine of our team is taking a bit of a hit this week and I hope our manager can find a quick solution.

David: Our squad is now critically thin but I have faith in our manager to make sure the gaps are filled.

Add to the conversation here, Buddies...

What about business down in Ayrshire tonight?

Jason: Just me thinking it's time to tempt Chris Burke out of retirement to guarantee us safety this season?

While Jason is suggesting luring the veteran back into the boots, another old-timer may be on the way out if murmurs are to be believed...

  14. Rudden vows to repay Davidson's faithpublished at 16:55 Greenwich Mean Time 31 January 2023

Zak Rudden has vowed to repay Callum Davidson's persistence after the St Johnstone boss finally landed the striker.

Saints missed out on Rudden last January when he joined Dundee from Partick Thistle, but the 22-year-old has now pitched up in Perth on loan.

“The conversations I’ve had with the gaffer have been really positive," said Rudden. "Knowing he took interest in me before makes me want to give that extra 20%.

“Coming straight into a training session was the best way to get started. It’s a great group of lads and they’ve made me feel welcome as soon as I stepped foot in the door.

“I’m a player who will give everything for the team, I love to get on the end of things and hopefully I’ll be able to get as many goals as I can in the next six months.”

  17. Erhahon too good for Lincoln?published at 16:41 Greenwich Mean Time 31 January 2023

Stephen Robinson says Ethan Erhahon will be a “huge loss” to St Mirren as the midfielder prepares to join Lincoln City.

“He has arguably been one of my best players all season,” said manager Robinson.

“But opportunities arise, Ethan was out of contract at the end of the season and it was good business on behalf of the club.”

Erhahon is on his way to join the club currently 16th in England's League One.

  18. Your views - What else do Aberdeen need?published at 16:34 Greenwich Mean Time 31 January 2023

These were the views of some of the Aberdeen fans who got in touch with their deadline-day wish list.

So far, the Dons have brought in two centre-backs - Angus MacDonald and Mattie Pollock - and said goalkeeper from Ajax Jay Gorter.

What else is needed? Get in touch here, Aberdeen fans...

Christopher: Defence needs bolstered still, another centre-back and a right-back to give options and competition. A goalkeeper is probably needed to cover Roos' injury, and a striker to replace Ramirez, so that there are options up front. A new manger would be nice to have in sooner, but the right manager is better than a quick appointment.

Calum:Defensive right-back, two central defenders that can defend as if their lives depend on it. Oh, and a decent manager.

Graham: We need a seasoned, worldly experienced manager who can attract talent who would want to work with him. Two central defenders 6'4"+ are a must with more attack-minded midfielders who can actually control and pass a football as well as a decent striker.

Stuart:I would bring goalkeeper Scott Bain from Celtic and striker Kevin van Veen from Motherwell and Neil Lennon as manager to help get them.

Kevin:Quite simple, defender, defender and another defender... Lets throw in another keeper for experienced back-up. Horrendous that we can't defend so let's address that first as, at the start of the season we were scoring so we know we can do that!

  19. Postpublished at 16:25 Greenwich Mean Time 31 January 2023

On paper that looks a good signing for Aberdeen - an experienced centre-back.

If you didn't know, Angus MacDonald was diagnosed with bowel cancer in 2019, and battled back to make a return to football.

You can read his story here. Inspirational stuff.
