  3. Late swoop for a striker?published at 20:41 Greenwich Mean Time 31 January 2023

Kevin Nisbet has limped off in the first half in Dingwall, with Hibs leading 1-0 at the break.

Nisbet was clutching his hamstring, which could easily mean a few weeks out.

Will that force Hibs back into the market?

Ange(l) Delight: Good window again signing replacements in advance of departures. Be good if we get squad players off the books. If GG goes I would go for Nisbet from Hibs, would add something we will miss when GG goes, namely physicality.

Tommy: Ange and his support team have been exemplary on the transfer front. The midfield, with Mooy in there, has more steel now. They have 3 central defenders - 4 if Welsh stays - for 2 positions. Goalkeepers are well covered and there is a good array of striking options.

Mark: Another striker would give Celtic a bit more depth in that position.

The frustration around Dundee United's lack of business is certainly not dissipating - but there's still time.

Will: Like a large majority of fans I am very concerned at the lack of incoming movement in the transfer window. If the club have got this wrong we will be playing Championship football next season.

Kenny: Anyone in, in place of Watt, will be a bonus as he has done NOTHING for United. Scoring goals for 'Well before he came, he couldn't see the goal at Utd so anyone in his place is a bonus.

  16. Buddies reap rewards for Palace-bound Reidpublished at 19:44 Greenwich Mean Time 31 January 2023

    John Hughes
    Former Hibernian manager on Sportsound

It's not surprising because Celtic have been sniffing around him as well. He's decided to go down to England.

It's fantastic for St Mirren that they've shown so much bravery in showcasing a young player and they're getting their rewards. I'm sure St Mirren supporters will wish Dylan Reid all the best, and rightly so.

  17. Celtic reject Welsh bidpublished at 19:38 Greenwich Mean Time 31 January 2023

We can tell you Dundee United made an approach to take Celtic centre-back Stephen Welsh on loan as they look to bolster their options at right centre-back.

However, Celtic are not letting him go anywhere.

  18. Hibs 'active' despite playing - Johnsonpublished at 19:35 Greenwich Mean Time 31 January 2023

Hibernian manager Lee Johnson has been speaking to BBC Radio Scotland ahead of his side's Premiership clash with Ross County tonight, and has some promising news regarding transfers.

“It’s a day that the fans enjoy, and we won’t disappoint them," he said.

"I’m sure we’ll get something over the line. It’s been a really difficult last few days but we’re still active.

“It’s not ideal having a match on deadline day, but a lot of instructions have been given.

"I think we’re quite cohesive now in what we’re after. It won’t be easy, but we’re certainly active, and we will be until 12 o’clock tonight.”

  19. Aberdeen eye wingerpublished at 19:27 Greenwich Mean Time 31 January 2023

Potentially an interesting one for Aberdeen fans.

21-year-old winger Dilan Markanday. He's only featured once in the Championship this season, but scored twice in four appearances in the EFL Cup.

  20. Ex-Staggies boss gives Murray updatepublished at 19:22 Greenwich Mean Time 31 January 2023

    Stuart Kettlewell
Former Ross County manager on BBC Sportsound

The Simon Murray one, it's a new one on me. I believe he travelled up with Queen's Park to play Inverness, and then I think he's come across the Kessock Bridge to come to Ross County.

I think he signed a pre-contract and then negotiations have moved on from there, so it's an interesting one.

I've never really heard of that before. It's someone who knows the Premiership, someone who's scoring plenty of goals in the Championship, and someone who could have been in Dingwall four years ago - I came very close to signing him myself.
