  2. Saints take Dundee's Rudden on loanpublished at 16:07 Greenwich Mean Time 31 January 2023

Talking of strange ones - St Johnstone have taken Zak Rudden on loan from Dundee.

Normally, it's the lower league clubs taking players on loan from the Premiership, but here it's the other way round.

The 22-year-old striker, who joined from Partick Thistle in July, has scored eight times in 27 appearances for the Championship side this season.

  3. Watt having St Mirren medicalpublished at 16:01 Greenwich Mean Time 31 January 2023

It seems that Tony Watt is heading for St Mirren.

The Dundee United striker had also been linked with a return to Motherwell or a return to Belgium with Oostende.

Seems a strange one that United would allow the 29-year-old to head to one of their Premiership rivals, albeit Watt has not been starting recently. However, we are hearing that he is having a medical with the Paisley club.

  5. Rangers fans eye Gilmour and Gouldpublished at 15:47 Greenwich Mean Time 31 January 2023

So what do Rangers fans want in the remain hours of the window? You can add your views here.

Josh: 1) Another centre-back with strong, commanding presence like Goldson to be a threat at set-pieces. 2) A creative central midfielder with great vision and passing range, the legs to cover a lot of ground (our high press will leave a lot of gaps between the lines) and the ability to strike the ball from range. Added bonus: free-kick specialist - when did we last score one?

Ken: Have a good look at Ryan Gauld, Vancouver Whitecaps midfielder. A much younger Steven Davis with pace and scoring touch.

Brian: We need another striker, not a clinical finisher more of an old-fashioned target man.

Alexander: I definitely think we need a goalkeeper.

Anon: Raskin is a must - we need a player who can link up the defence and attack again, and he seems to fit that bill. Would also like a quality keeper and a centre-back who isn't going to break down injured every three games.

Jamie: I'd love to see Rangers go for Billy Gilmour, maybe a loan deal for the rest of the season then look at making it permanent in the summer if he does well.

Brian: Sad to see another future Rangers player (Alex Lowry) seemingly getting put out on loan when he is such a brilliant young player. The young players that have come in since Michael Beale have done really well, but they have been banished to the bench and he's back playing the players that have cost Rangers the league.

Alexander: We badly need another striker as our current ones are all injury prone. We're still in two cups and the league if one or more striker gets injured again we'll suffer on the pitch.

  6. Celtic fans differ on prioritiespublished at 15:40 Greenwich Mean Time 31 January 2023

We asked fans of each Premiership club what they wanted of their club in the final hours of transfer window. Here's what these Celtic fans told us and you can give us your thoughts here...

Jamie: If we can move four or five out to trim the squad, and maybe add an enforcer in the middle of the park, I'd be delighted.

Gerry: Need a left-back to cover for Greg Taylor.

Paul: I feel Celtic are now in good place in general squad wise. Decent keeper, solid defence, dynamic midfield with numerous options for different scenarios and an exciting forward line, especially with the addition of our new South Korean striker Oh. I feel we need a back-up centre-half after Moritz Jenz was sadly released back to Germany.

Mark: Another striker just for back-up.

Anon: A good young central defender and midfielder to give cover for Callum McGregor or if Cameron Carter-Vickers or Carl Starfelt pick up injuries.

Joe: Playing well at the moment, maybe another striker like Kevin Nisbet from Hibs. Let's see what happens.

Bob: We don't need anyone else in this window. Watching the B side recently shows three or four could make the first team or go out on loan to improve. Players who come through and survive the pressures of proving themselves are often more loyal. They already have the Celtic way instilled in their play.

Anon: Celtic need two players to complement what's there. Starfelt reminds me of Bobo Balde, last minute, too many times giving the ball away. They need a replacement to help Cameron Carter-Vickers. They also need a number nine who is over six feet minimum. To avoid teams parking the bus, knocking down balls for Kyogo.

  11. Livingston release Mullinpublished at 15:20 Greenwich Mean Time 31 January 2023

The first of those exits promised by Livingston manager David Martindale has been announced, with the "mutual termination" of midfielder Josh Mullin's contract.

The 30-year-old, who has spent the first half of the season on loan with Ayr United in the Championship, leaves the club having made 123 appearances over his two spells in West Lothian.

Livingston manager David Martindale told his club website: "I’m disappointed that it’s worked out this way because Josh has played a huge part in the success of the club over the years, but Josh needs to be out playing football and I was happy to try and accommodate whatever was going to work best for him."

The 29-year-old, capped 33 times by his country, is also the subject of interest in England, the paper adds.

I can't see Jonny Williams without thinking of him in the Sunderland 'Til I Die documentary. Seems a very good lad.

  13. Fox cagey over Watt move and Souttar cashpublished at 15:08 Greenwich Mean Time 31 January 2023

Dundee United head coach Liam Fox gave little away on his club's activity and stated there was "nothing at the moment" regarding news on the future of striker Tony Watt, who has also been linked with a return to Belgium to join Oostende along with Premiership rivals St Mirren and Motherwell.

Fox also refused to speculate on what a sell-on fee for Harry Souttar's prospective £15m move from Stoke to Leicester would mean and, when asked whether he could get new additions, Fox said: "We will see. We are always looking."

  14. Rangers target staying with Swanseapublished at 15:00 Greenwich Mean Time 31 January 2023

Swansea City midfielder Morgan Whittaker was also a Rangers target, being described by manager Michael Beale as the "most eye-catching player" this season in League One, but that deal appears to be dead in the water.

"He will be staying at Swansea I believe," Beale said on Monday.

"There was just one bid that went in that got rejected. There's been a lot of hot air around the situation."

Whittaker was recalled by Swansea City from his loan to Plymouth Argyle and Beale added: "I think he's a boy they like. They've obviously got their plans with him."

  15. Raskin 'an eye-catching one' - Bealepublished at 14:53 Greenwich Mean Time 31 January 2023

Nicolas Raskin's move to Rangers would likely be the biggest "incoming" transfer fee of the day in Scotland.

Of the Standard Liege midfielder, Ibrox manager Michael Beale said yesterday: "He's an excellent player, there is loads of interest in him, he has a lot of options I believe.

"He is someone who can connect the midfield and the forwards. He is technically a very good player. He can play as a six or an eight and he will be a good signing for someone.

"It is an eye-catching one because of his age and the fact that his contract is running down. He is a player very well thought of in the Belgium national team set-up as well.

"I can't confirm anything right now, but we are closer, but it's not guaranteed right this second."

  16. Raskin in Scotland to join Rangerspublished at 14:42 Greenwich Mean Time 31 January 2023

The big news at Ibrox appears to be the imminent signing of Nicolas Raskin from Standard Liege.

It seems like years since the 21-year-old midfielder was first linked with Rangers.

Now reports in various newspapers suggest a £1.75m fee has been agreed, with Sky Sports cameras spotting him at the Glasgow club's training ground this morning.

  17. 'Good business' for St Mirren - Robinsonpublished at 14:34 Greenwich Mean Time 31 January 2023

St Mirren manager Stephen Robinson has been explaining the decision to sell young midfielders Ethan Erhahon and Dylan Reid.

"I am delighted for both boys," he said. "Ethan is going to be a huge loss - he has arguably been one of my best players all season. But opportunities arise, Ethan was out of contract at the end of the season and it was good business on behalf of the club.

"Dylan is a young boy we spent a long time working with to get him to the stage here he was ready for the first team. Clubs in the Premier League are looking for potential and that's what Dylan has, he has lots of potential."

Of course, while willing to talk about Erhahon's switch to Lincoln and Reid's to Crystal Palace, Robinson would not comment on St Mirren being linked with Dundee United striker Tony Watt.

  18. Buddies boss has to wait for exitspublished at 14:28 Greenwich Mean Time 31 January 2023

Stephen Robinson is waiting for Ethan Erhahon and Dylan Reid to have their transfers away from St Mirren confirmed before he can move to fill the gaps.

The 21-year-old Erhahon is on his way to Lincoln City, while his fellow midfielder, 17-year-old Reid, is set for Crystal Palace.

Manager Robinson, who has also been linked with a move for Dundee United striker Tony Watt, said: "I am waiting for funds to be released.

"It is a tough situation because we are waiting on medicals to go through on two boys this morning before the board will be able to release funds to go and try to recruit.

"It is going to be last-minute dealings if any. It's not the way I like to do business, but in terms of where the club is financially, I understand."

  19. 'Maybe some ins and outs' at Fir Parkpublished at 14:21 Greenwich Mean Time 31 January 2023

Motherwell manager Steven Hammell said this morning that: "We are hoping to do a little bit of business, maybe some ins and outs. It's always moving.

"We thought we had something done late on Monday night and then it turns out it's maybe not. We are looking to bring players in that will enhance us. I think we need one or two, I think we need a bit of freshness."

Hammell would not confirm or deny reports linking the club with a move to take striker Tony Watt back from Dundee United.

"We spoke with the media team this morning and they ran a few names past me that were getting linked with us," he said. "Some of the players we hadn't even heard of before. Everything just now is speculation."

    Kheredine Idessane
    BBC Sport Scotland

According to Sky Sports, Giorgos Giakoumakis is on the verge of moving from Celtic to Atlanta United in Major League Soccer for around £4.3m.

Responding to that, and while not mentioning any names of clubs interested in the Greece striker, Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou has just revealed that exit talks are "ongoing" but there is "nothing finalised".

There are also reports that out-of-favour midfielders Oliver Abildgaard, who is on loan from Rubin Kazan, Yosuke Ideguchi and James McCarthy could also be leaving the Scottish champions.

Meanwhile, Postecoglou suggested there will be no more incomings before midnight and he is happy to have done his business early during the January window.
